TTC: Give Us A Route Planner (1)
permalinkOkay... I've agreed with too many people lately on this point: it is ridiculous that the TTC does not offer some sort of route planner tool on their website. You know... go to a website, punch in where you are, where you want to go, and tell me how to get there. They have just approved $9.9 million to be spent on a satellite system to give travelers an accurate update on for arrival times. ...Shared by Kevin Branigan (7)

The guy who designed this eraser is a genius! We all know that it's more fun and effective to use the corners, but most simple rectangular erasers only have four at best, and even less once they're used. Well, this plastic eraser, aptly named kadokeshi (corner eraser), has 28 edges! It's distributed by classic stationary maker Kokuyo, and won a Good Design Award in 2003. A 30-foot tall, 37-ton robotic spider is arachnously clinging to the side of a Liverpudian office building. Created by French company La Machine, the installation cost £1.8million to bring to Liverpool – and all but £250,000 of this was funded by the taxpayer. The story behind the artwork is that French 'scientists' have arrived in the city to investigate it. They will use cranes to remove the animal off the tower block, before taking it ...Contribute comment - AngelCode.com - game development and more... (1)

Sheer awesomeness: this week at Nvidia's Nvision tradeshow, Mythbusters hosts Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman used a massive 2100 barrel paint gun turret to create a pixel art rendition of the Mona Lisa in under 275 milliseconds. The thesis of the experiment was absurd — something about how only an Nvidia GPU can handle the raw processing power required to generate 45 square pixels of pixel art — but we're still impressed.
