You don't get to be a CEO, even a failed one, without putting in work. Same with a beauty queen, actor, or athlete. Lottery winners are really the exception IMO.

(I shamelessly stole this title from a chat with Matt Hinze) 99% of the examples you see out there for ASP.NET MVC are using WebFormsViewEngine. That's fine, it's familiar, it benefits from intellisense, compilation, and refactoring support. But all of that comes at a price, and that price is (at times) incredibly wordy. I announced this on Twitter a while back, but I've left my full-time job at Xclaim to join VersionOne as their internal Agile Development Coach. I'll say, leaving Xclaim was kind of a bittersweet thing. I don't know about you, but I can say with certainty that I am excited again about the Microsoft platform. With today's announcement that they are going to be making jQuery a core part of the Microsoft development platform I can finally say that I think they are "getting it". Forget the neverending argument on the ALT.NET list about whether or not it’s acceptable to inject services into an Entity object (for the record, I say “no way”). What if you want to go the other way around? What if you want to request a service or a view or a command of some kind and have an Entity injected into the service/view/command? This was originally part of our July 2007 ASP.NET Futures package, along with several other features.
