I got to cruise over to Smith Tower yesterday to talk with Microsoft Live Labs about Photosynth, and as of this writing the site should be live and all the things we talked about will be available for you to play with. It’s best to see it in motion, so either grab that camera or watch the video above for a taste of the Synthy goodness. Sorry the sound is so bad. The video is ...

glad to see this project is moving along, but uh... why would I want to make a synth with my OWN photos? I mean, how many photos woudl I have to take to get that done. I thought the powerful notion behind this was to have some of your photos and the program goes and finds photos at the same location to create a synth. oh well.

Intel and Yahoo have announced plans for a new “Widget Channel”, a widget platform for consumer electronic devices running on Intel’s hardware. The platform will support a number of current technologies, including JavaScript, HTML, XML, and mostly notably Adobe’s ubiquitous Flash, which many current platforms on CE devices don’t support. The two companies envision a library of small widgets that will be included alongside standard television content. For example, a user could use an eBay ...

Steve Jobs shared some stats on how the iPhone App store is doing one month after launch with the WSJ’s Nick Wingfield. There have already been 60 million downloads, the majority of them free. All platforms with Adobe AIR: When you follow enough chatty people on Twitter, some days the noise can overwhelm the signal—that's when you want TweetDeck, a full-featured desktop Twitter client that groups, filters, and searches incoming tweets for you. TweetDeck's killer feature is its ability to separate the people you follow on Twitter into groups—like "Don't Miss," "Co-workers," and "Chatty types." That way while tweets by the prolific folks fly by in one pane, infrequent ...

All 4 parts of the Aurora browser concept demo. There are some pretty good concepts and some things that seem pretty odd. For example, the clustering/clouds don't really seem like the best representation of data - they feel very cluttered. Overall, they're worth watching and present some interesting ideas.

I’ve not seen Steve talk this openly about this stuff before… “So what is the future? The future is about having ...
