Twinkle 1.1 Sneak Peak (2)
on Apple iPhone School (88) permalinkAvailable In: App Store Price: Free Tapulous has released some info on the upcoming features planned for Twinkle. From what I’ve read, I’m very pleased. They warn that not all features may make it into version 1.1 but here is a breakdown: - They are keeping the Tapulous account/service. (need for pictures and nearby feature) - Future support for FriendFeed and other services. - Multiple accounts - Option to force Twitter info like avatar, user ...Shared by Bwana (250) Steve (174)Contribute comment
- iPhone firmware 2.0 is reminding me of my experience with 1.1.2. More frequent Safari crashes, and some reboots. 1.1.3 fixed those problems back then. (1)

Sweet Pyro Costume from Down Under [Cosplay] (2)
on Kotaku (3120) permalinkReader Paul from Australia sends in this pic (and two others) of his homebrewed homage to Pyro from Team Fortress 2. Naturally, because this is how my mind works, I thought "well if Pyro is a female character, this dude is running around in girls' clothes." I kid! I keeeed! The mask is right on, but the suit's not the same texture as Pyro's rubberized get-up, which in addition to being expensive would also look ...Shared by Bwana (250) Ricardo (71)Contribute comment

Twitter Blacklist Closed (4)
on Twitterholics (157) permalinkUpdate: The Twitter Blacklist has been closed down. The final message on the site read: As of July 12th 2008, this service will no longer be available. Dear friends, fans, and foes, Of late I’ve lost confidence in Twitter as a platform. Their uptime is risible; their community interaction questionable. (Think failure to enforce their own TOS - “You must not abuse, harass, threaten, impersonate or intimidate other Twitter users”? Forget it.) I don’t think ...Contribute comment

using Twitterrific with identi.ca (6)
on 0xDECAFBAD (50) permalinkSince identi.ca has introduced support for the Twitter API, switching Twitterrific over seems to be as easy as entering this command in a Terminal window: defaults write com.iconfactory.Twitterrific baseUrl -string 'identi.ca/api' The command to switch back is the following: defaults write com.iconfactory.Twitterrific baseUrl -string 'twitter.com' You'll also need to restart Twitterrific after each of these to see the change working. It took me awhile to figure this out, because I didn't realize that they'd hidden ...Contribute comment

Trillian adds Facebook, IRC support to Astra (4)
on Webware.com (932) permalinkMy favorite IM application, Trillian, has just put out a brand new build of its upcoming Astra product for alpha testers. New are Facebook notifications and quick shortcuts to jump straight to things like photo galleries and user profiles. Sorely missing from that, however, is Facebook's chat, which is what I think many Trillian users have been pining for (myself included). Free competitor Digsby has had Facebook chat integration since the beginning of May, shortly ...Contribute comment

Identi.ca Implements Twitter API - ReadWriteWeb (48)
on ReadWriteWeb (6491) permalinkWhen we first reported about the new microblogging service Identi.ca earlier this month, it looked like an interesting experiment. Since then, its community has grown rapidly and today, it implemented an API that is compatible with the Twitter API. Thanks to this, any application that connects to Twitter can now also work with Identi.ca by simply pointing to identi.ca/api instead of twitter.com. Dave Winer tested the new API yesterday and reports that everything worked perfectly ...Shared by Aaron (31) Adrien O'Leary (54) AJ (1214) andré.friedrichs (893) BillDeys (63) Bob Goyetche (31) bounder (34) Brit (176) Bwana (250) Carlos (28) Chris Fizik (33) Chris Nixon (120) Corvida (509) cvander (54) dasmart (71) dd (53) Edo (136) ehu4ever (532) George (16) handir (194) hank (19) Henk-Jan van der Klis (22) hurstel (10) Jeffrey Blais (170) Josh (113) jschultz (43) KC (30) kenmat (69) Kenneth (63) LouCypher (404) louisgray (701) Mao Yu (83) marcell (97) martian (21) Mudiam (7) pF (15) Pittaya (14) Rex (839) Rob (378) Ruben (127) Sanns (45) sarahintampa (386) tig (155) walkah (14) wAsh (40) William Spaetzel (77) YuSuPh (176) Zaki (218)
