Depeche Mode held a press conference in Berlin yesterday, announcing initial dates for their 2009 Tour of the Universe and the renewal of their long-term contract with Mute/EMI overseas. (No word yet on whether Mute will keep licensing Depeche Mode records to Warner Bros. in the U.S.) The band's

There I was in Las Vegas, just chillin’ in my hotel room when I saw this come up on the TV. Apparently CNN has integrated Twitter as a new way to get some real-time questions on air. The Twitter account that CNN uses is @Issue1cnn and they seem to be using the micro-blogging tool more and more as time goes by. You can see more thoughts on this Twitter/CNN lovefest over here on Mashable. Also, ...

There are a few web-based services that let you create powerpoint presentations, such as Google Docs. But none of them can really be compared to desktop software. However, 280 Slides does come close. 280 Slides has a clean Mac-like interface that is easy to use and reminiscent of real desktop software. It’s also pretty resourceful. Notable features include the ability to export to pptx (Office 2007) format or to put your presentation directly on to ...

Several weeks ago we reviewed Rock Band 2 and were only able to experience it with the 1st generation drum kit and guitars. However as an update to that review we recently got a chance to try out the 2nd generation drum kit and guitar. Would they be more impressive and intuitive this time around? We were about to find out. Guitar: The Fender Stratocaster is once again the guitar of choice for Rock Band ...

It’s no secret that insomnia is rampant in our 24/7/365 “I want it now” world. However, lack of sleep is bad for your health and productivity. If you face insomnia more than occasionally see your doctor. Sometimes the cause is just plain stress and other times it may be an underlying health problem. Try some of these relaxation techniques in addition to following your doctor’s orders: 1. Turn off technology at least one hour before ...

also, try natural supplements. melatonin helps to regulate your sleep schedule without causing any addiction; valerian root is a natural supplement that actually causes you to get the burny eye feeling of physical tiredness within 30 minutes yet doesn't make you stay asleep and isn't addictive either.

Although we do our best to eat local, some things are just grown too far from home. One of these foods is cocoa, most of which comes from the Ivory Coast region of West Africa, as well as Central America. Sadly, the reality of the cocoa industry is not as sweet as the final product we enjoy here at home. The good news is, even though this is occurring thousands of miles away, Americans wield ...

I've always been a complete novice to the category of spirits known as aperitifs. These old-school standbys — which include liqueurs, dry champagne, and fortified wines — rose to fame in Europe in the 1800s, and have remained popular ever since. When I received a bottle of Dubonnet ($11.99), I decided to begin my aperitif studies. The French fortified wine, originally developed in 1846, is available in two varieties: rouge and blanc. Dubonnet is made ...
