Nearly 75% of US college students believe WiFi access on their college campus helps them get better grades, according to a recent survey conducted for the Wi-Fi Alliance. Wakefield Research polled 501 US college students in September 2008 and found that nine out of ten say Wi-Fi access is as essential to education as classrooms and computers, while nearly three in five say they wouldn’t go to a college that doesn’t have free Wi-Fi. Retro and vintage are becoming a new trend. Once rarely used in this robust, dynamic medium, early, retro and vintage elements are now becoming more and more popular in a variety of design contexts. Online shops, corporate designs, portfolios and blogs incorporate both styles on a small and large scale. When applying “old-style” elements to their works, designers produce creative and appealing designs that make their websites stand out and look really different. Public art frequently features allegedly famous people you've never heard of, playing children, or abstract concepts rendered somehow in solid form. But some modern artists take their cue from classical sculpture, portraying the demigods of our age: the superheroes, killer robots, cryptozoological creatures, and movie monsters. For your entertainment, we've collected some of the science fiction-inspired sculptures that sit all over the world, from Alberta to Azerbaijan.Shared by digits12 (380) Erez (35) Leena (942) Mr. BabyMan (407) Nice Fish Films (48) Paul Winch (32) Pete (33) rene (47) Shane Coffey (174)Contribute comment -

September 4th 2008 marked Google’s tenth birthday. That means that during 2000 and 2001, when all the air was being let out of the dot-com bubble, Google was in its infancy. That was a good idea that survived the bleakest time for high tech companies. On the flip side, Facebook has not even reached its fifth birthday, but as a company it is worth well more than four billion dollars. Supporting what many of us who are not musically talented have often felt, new research reveals that trained musicians really do think differently than the rest of us. Vanderbilt University psychologists have found that professionally trained musicians more effectively use a creative technique called divergent thinking, and also use both the left and the right sides of their frontal cortex more heavily than the average person.Shared by adam (907) aerobroken (516) Amy Robinson (7) BrendoMan (318) chris (307) David Evans (1) Dawn Lindblade (31) Deborah Petersen (835) Deuts (12) Erwin Tang Yew Hon (92) Flora (27) George Kao (39) Graham English (65) guy (402) Henry Precheur (15) jayce (89) Josh Kaplan (44) Krazy (378) Kris (82) Lee (9) Leena (942) Matt (25) Mike (25) Mr. BabyMan (407) neal (334) Nice Fish Films (48) Paddy (4) Phronk (1) RodPS (23) Sun Tzu (621) Tal Siach (461) Travis Wright (40) w0lfh0und (418)Contribute comment
