Like It Or Not, Here Comes the New Facebook (94)

Despite statistics indicating that many users who migrate over to the new Facebook design are reverting back to the old, all signs point to the imminent launch of redesign. Yesterday, the company wrote on its developer blog that “over 30 million people have checked out the new profile, and many are using it as their profile full time. We’re nearing the time where we’ll switch over remaining users by default. We expect most of this ...Shared by Aelle (45) Alexander13 (467) Amy (89) Ananya Walia (769) Anders Nicolaysen (5) Andrew Schott (73) Avi (598) Benedict Lee Zhi En (163) Bill (6) bittin (194) Brian Schwartz (13) Bryan Irrera (6) Bryan Webster (21) Cam (17) Ch (107) Chabarred (53) Chris Grayson (6) Christy (32) damned viper (156) Daniel Matthews (19) Dave (44) Dave Keffler (65) Dean Burge (12) Dean Clark (134) Dennis Gonzales (16) Dion Rodrigues (35) Doug Funny (68) Dragos Pirvu (638) Drew Olanoff (144) Eric Daams (292) H. Michael Moore to release his next film free online (7)

[My take: I'm not so sure that Moore is giving up tens of millions of box office revenues on this one, as AP suggests. Getting theatrical distribution for a documentary is hard, even for Moore, and it maybe this one just didn't look like it was going to sell well enough to justify that. So it may really be a case of free online vs straight to DVD. And for Moore, for whom political impact ...Contribute comment -
BlackBerry Storm 9530 gets closer to Verizon launch (1)
permalinkVerizon has yet to push out a true competitor to the iconic iPhone and iPhone 3G from big-dog competitor AT&T. The CDMA carrier has been expected to be bringing the BlackBerry 9530 Storm, formerly known as the BlackBerry Thunder, on board as their iPhone-fighting touchscreen handset. And, as RIM’s first touchscreen BlackBerry handset, Verizon has something of an exclusive here. The latest rumblings from the rumor mill has the BlackBerry Thunder getting “technical acceptance” (TA) ...Shared by Dave (44)

Chrome and Android Have Google’s Head in the Clouds (3)

This time last year, the tech community was all abuzz with the rumors that Google was ready to put out a phone of their own. Nicknamed the gPhone, many expected it to be their answer to Apple’s iPhone. How surprised were we once we saw Google had bigger ambitions. Rather than focusing on just one device, they were bringing out a platform that could be run on an army of handsets. A lot of people ...Contribute comment -

iPhone Buzz (21) permalink
For awhile when apps were kicked off of the App Store, no one had any idea why, at least until several days following their removal. But one developer just received an email that indicates apps need to serve a purpose or perform a significant enough function to be accepted to the App Store. Check out the full letter after the cut. "Hello Developer, We've reviewed your application Pull My Finger. We have determined that this ...Shared by Dave (44)Contribute comment
