No matter how much you try, you will never have enough wall outlets. That's why we have extension cords and power adapters to multiply them. One of the ways of cutting down on wires and power cords is to simply have more wall outlets, which is why this one is so nifty. Leviton's AC320W comes to the rescue. Thanks to its design, it's able to accommodate those huge AC adapters and other strange plugs. It ...

The Online Tech Tips site offers up a great tip for anyone reinstalling XP off something other than their original CD—such as a slipstreamed and automated installation—or lacking a net connection to run the activation. Before wiping your system clean, grab a file named WPA.DBL from the System32 directory and save it to a thumb drive or other external media. When you load up your new system, skip registration, enter "Safe Mode" from the boot ...

Broadband Reports is saying that they've confirmed through several sources that Comcast is going to be instituting a 250GB cap on their high speed internet. Sources tell me that Comcast will officially announce that they're implementing this new system starting October first. Originally, the source indicated Comcast was considering charging $15 for each 10 GB over the cap customers travel. A press release should drop shortly confirming whether this is still the case. There was ...

Our friends on the Blogger team just lauched Following. Blogger users can now "follow" blogs they like, given them an easy way keep up with their favorite blogs, and allowing authors to see who their readership is. Better yet, followed blogs also show up in your Reader account, in their own folder. That way you can get the full power of Reader's tagging, sharing and starring without having to maintain two separate reading lists. Of ...

Opentape.fm, where you can download code to easily create your own Muxtape-like online mix of MP3 files. And if the creators of Muxtape aren't directly responsible, they probably fed Opentape's developers everything they would need. The first clue is that the site is powered by the favored online publishing platform of millenial hipsters, Tumblr. Another clue is that the domain registration information points to 152 W. 57th Street in Manhattan, which just happens to be ...

The Remington Shortcut is a clipper designed for self-administered haircuts. A curved clipper head makes it almost impossible to over-cut small or large regions, and the clipper's unconventional hairbrush-like shape makes it easy to reach the most awkward spots on your head. Before getting the Shortcut, I'd tried cutting my own hair several times and always had disasters. On my first attempt with the Shortcut, I got about the same results I'm used to from ...

BNL on drugs? Bay Area nerds love the goofy-smart Toronto rock band Barenaked Ladies for lots of reasons: Frontman Steven Page's pudgy physique. Punny, word-playful lyrics clean enough for junior high, but full of adult self-effacement. Musical arrangements that borrow from folk and a capella. The band's ironic rap about stuff white people like, "One Week," was licensed by Apple as one of ten preloaded tracks in the very first version of iTunes in 2001. ...

We can't believe it, but Fusion CA-1P500 is apparently the first head unit that allows you to dock and hide your iPod directly inside the face. It fits the classic, touch and nano, but supposedly not the iPhone. Weird, aren't the touch and iPhone about ...
