This Star Wars Landspeeder is a full-sized, drivable, Jedi-approved replica built by Daniel Deutsch, who designed his version from the ground up. Neatorama dug up this 1:1 scale speeder, which has a custom aluminum chassis, fiberglass body, and an electric drive system that hits lightspeed at 25 mph (UPDATED: with gallery). The art detail is also pretty amazing (and reeks of authenticity), with body work and fake damage consistent with the landspeeder in the film. ...

The good news for “Torchwood” fans is the series three has begun filming in Cardiff. The popular “Doctor Who” spin-off series began shooting its third season this week. As previously reported, the third series will be a single-storyline, five-part shortened season for the hit spin-off. The five episodes are set to air as a “Torchwood” special event/week sometime in early to mid 2009 in the UK. “The new series of ‘Torchwood’ is hugely bold and ...

The controls work perfectly, whether you're an avid baseball fan or a newcomer picking up the game for the ...

This is on the rumor-ier side, but Brian from Kotaku's man deep, deep in Japan has dropped him a tidbit about a new DS that might be in the works—one that bumps up screen sizes and finally replaces the top screen with a touch screen. The Nintendo DT, perhaps? Anyway, this certainly won't be hitting before Christmas, as Kotaku's source says "early next year" if true, which means a lot of DS-gifted kids' smiles may ...

Our friend Andrew Becraft at Brothers Brick have spotted the most useless, silly, awkward looking, yet absolutely irresistible Lego job ever: a full Boba Fett costume made out of bricks, including helmet, bracelets, utility belt, armor plates, rocket pack, and his laser rifle with obligatory LED light. The picture gallery leaves no doubt to the amazing dorkiness of Simon, its creator. Simon, we love you. And we love you even more after seeing that you ...

As rumored, Nikon's D90 is the first-ever DSLR with HD video recording, but maybe more importantly for actual photographers, Nikon is promising much of the same low-noise performance of their higher end DSLRs. The brand new 12.3-megapixel image sensor was developed in-house like the D3 and D700's (the D300 uses a Sony sensor) and you can crank the ISO up to 6400, so we're hopeful. It's a mutant DSLR (not in a bad way) bringing ...

A lot of us geeks spent hours and hour (and hours) drawing things using an Etch-A-Sketch back in ye-old days of yore. Back when life was simpler, candy sweeter, and 16 bits was high tech. These days life is complicated (Wii? PS3? or both?) candy rots your teeth, and ‘millions of colors’ still doesn’t look as good as it should. But being a grown-up does come with some advantages. Advantages like being able to do ...

Perhaps you are thinking: but my Harper's subscription ran out and since it's now August the July issue is long gone from stands! This is true. Which is why ...

Filed under: Video There are few things more fun than watching people try to figure out how to handle a new Wii game. With traditional controllers, unless you were staring directly at peoples' hands, it was hard to see their bibbles and bobbles as they worked out how to make things go, but with the Wii, you can see all the flails and foibles in full and fantastic motion. That's the real secret of Wii's ...

Tris, the free version of Tetris for the iPhone that we loved ('cause it was free!) is being pulled from the App Store. Apparently, The Tetris Company called up Apple and it no likey. Its creator, Noah Witherspoon says that while he thinks their copyright claim is thin—and would be thinner still if he called it "Trys"—he doesn't really have the resources to fight it in court, so he's removing it from the store on ...
