Again, sorry for typos. Bruce Sterling, Future of Entertainment Hello, thanks for having me into your event today, and thanks for that intro. Though there is a problem with that, I am not Bruce Sterling. He couldn’t make it, he sent me instead. The reason he couldn’t make it is that in 2043, Bruce is 89. Dr. Sterling is too frail to get into a time machine to talk to game devs, so he called ...- ChristopherA said: Great post from 2043 on the future of entertainment.

Tonchidot just revealed its Sekai Camera, a system for using online data to navigate the real-world, at the TechCrunch50 conference in San Francisco. I thought this was incredibly cool, and the audience agreed — it kept applauding and cheering throughout the presentation. The idea is to use location-based data to tag real-world objects, and to present that information as a graphical layer over the images you bring up in your iPhone camera — much more ...Shared by David (6) deanterry (0) John Swords (0) Joseph (0) Nate (31) Ross Dawson (2) willdeluca (18)- Nate said: This sounds oddly like something that was in the Android product demo.

Today at TechCrunch 50, Mytopia debuted their cross-platform development framework RUGS. The idea is simple: code once, and an application is automatically translated for compatibility on a range of mobile and Web platforms. RUGS applications are running natively on each platform, with porting solutions for Flash and every major mobile operating system. They demonstrated support for Windows Mobile, iPhone, BlackBerry, Symbian, Palm OS - even the Android emulator. - Pradeep said: Awesome!Have been playing with it since yesterday evening. It is most certainly the Quicksilver (http://bit.ly/1XVYsZ) of the web. And they seem to be intent on revolutionizing the way we access the web. (Also, check out Adaptive Path's video for Mozilla Labs' concept web series: http://adaptivepath.com/aurora/)Install (https://people.mozilla.com/~avarma/ubiquity-0.1.xpi) and type "command-list" to get the complete list of built-in commands.Or ubiq "command-editor" and build your own commands. May be something to 'select a text, add a note and post-to-reader'!It's also possible to embed Ubiquity commands in webpages. How will the web react? Think of the possibilities for a frequent user on a massive destination like Amazon or Yahoo! They admit that the whole thing is "messy" and "cluttered" (sample: hyphenated commands) but I can firmly say that they are heading in the right direction.Hmmm...now, about the lost mojo...[http://bit.ly/3xtnj7]
