Following an early morning status check of their vintage electronic equipment, two computer engineers "throw down" in an awkward dance-off that seems to (innacurately) echo the development of information technolgy and the internet from 1951 up to the present day (!?). The latest numbers are in, and Twitter is apparently growing at a torrid pace. According to stats just released from Nielsen Online, Twitter recorded 2.3 million unique visitors in August (US-only), an increase of 422% from the same period last year. Moreover, visitors to Twitter spent 55% more time on the site on average – a total of more than 7 minutes per user. Those numbers point to rather robust growth for the site, especially ...Shared by (jeff)isageek (23) Adam (12) AJ (254) Alden (3) Angelo (16) assbach (7) Bastien (10) Benedict Lee Zhi En (141) bhc3 (41) biedermann (13) Bill Shakes (20) Cai Chen (6) caozenghui (58) chrisbrogan.com (37) cinefilo (32) DavidSS (22) Dieter Schwarz (10) dobata (328) Eric (55) Find Me Sexy (2) geoff (24) gluca (14) GP (47) Harald Heukers (3) Humberto Gonzalez (49) Jack Humphrey (0) James (12) Jason Raddin (2) Joe (117) Jrod (61) Kenyth (19) laleh (54) Leena (1101) Leslie (22) Mark (35) Mike F (687) Mikey (68) Mykl Roventine (13) Navid (77) Noah Carter (21) Primoz (21) Reg Saddler (Zaibatsu) (831) richhand (36) saj (22) Sean (48) Sherman (16) Steve Rubel (37) Sun Tzu (732) Tad Chef (221) taylor (178) warza (2) web (23) whatevernevermind (26) Wiredset (16) xxdesmus (141) Zachary (3) Zack (0)Contribute comment -

HTML 5 represents the biggest leap forward in web standards in almost a decade. Unlike the specifications that came before it, HTML 5 is not merely intended to present content to a web browser. In a long-ranging discussion today at TechCrunch50, investor Peter Thiel (PayPal, Facebook, Slide) gave his thoughts on what is the best predictor of startup success. At the Founder’s Fund, one of the most important factors he likes to look at before deciding to invest in a startup is how much the CEO is paying himself.
