From the dynamics of social networks to market bubbles, science has a lot to say about the world of technology. One of the great discoveries of modern science was the realization of how interconnected the world is. The deterministic, Newtonian view of a clockwork Universe was replaced by the much more dynamic, uncertain and entangled world of Quantum Mechanics. The new world is the one where Godel forever cut hopes for completeness in mathematics and ...Shared by A Librarian (23) adam (725) Adamo (32) Ahsan Navid Hussain (352) Alberto (233) Alex (95) Alex (21) alios (2) Amit Chowdhry (78) Amy (139) ANDRE DANEAU (1) andré.friedrichs (32) Andréia Bohner (36) Andrew (2) ani625 (72) Antonio (2) Apostlion (11) arjo (68) Benjamin (459) Benjamin (7) Bill (1) bittin (227) Blake Matheny (7) bnutzinger (15) Brooke Pennington (1) burkinaboy (76) c202 (20) Cadmus (4) Carlesm (16) cheeming (16) Chris (15) Chris Gurney (23) Chris Hitchcock (43) cmulder (8) Collin Voigt (4) corvin (16) Dan Ketterick (7) Dan Reiner (1) Daniel Dočekal (11) Dave (5) Dave (73) David (1) dedlam (18) Dmitry Naumenko (20) Dmitry Ulanov (20) dobata (234) Dragos Pirvu (438) drewenut (15) Edwin (3) EggHe/\D (13) Elliot (5) Erik (20) Fenng (47) Filip Salindrija (45) Gadiel Rivera (9) Gary Homewood (6) Gene Locklin (44) George The Writer (19) Green Flash (6) Gregg Hartling (7) Hagen (2) Haidong (16) Harish (20) Hasan Saleem (166) heping (5) iAlja (45) Igor (2) Ira White Jr. (56) J.D. Today there was a comic book in my mail, sent by Google and drawn by no less than Scott McCloud, creator of the classic Understanding Comics. Within the 38 pages, which I’ve scanned and put up, in very readable format Google gives the technical details into a project of theirs: an open source browser called Google Chrome. The book points to www.google.com/ch..., but I can’t see anything live there yet. - e r a said: remember all the stuff we heard before in the early days of operating systems, well ... here we do it again, this time from Google, and in a web browser shape ... now, it's a little bad news for OS makers, and other browsers makers ... but good news for everybody else
- Dan said: Awesome.
- Dileepa said: Microsoft is going to be in serious trouble. IE8 is not looking good. Firefox is on fire. Safari is gaining share via Macs. And now Google Chrome...
- Chris Wetherell said: Some people will go audibly apoplectic at hearing this news. "Another browser to deal with!" "Owww!" "KILLIT!?!1101@#!" Potentially, it might help to hear that A) it's open source B) it's based on WebKit so if you develop for Safari, you're good already.
- Sean said: I would be most interested in this. Especially if Google could use this browser to tie more of the Google services together.
- Mark Whiting said: Oh god this is such good news and a great way of putting it out. I can't wait for browsers to stop sucking as all the existing ones do.
- BillDeys said: when can I get a copy?
- Jason said: multithreaded browser? next step, google OS.
- baron said: Can't wait to give a test drive after reading the comic introduction. Google rocks again!
- Icefreez said: Doesn't sound all that great. Tabs above the URL box seems stupid. I switch tabs more than I click in the URL box.
- griflet said: Google is concocting an open-source web-browser? Hmmm, how will it stand-out agains the Mozilla labs software?
- Linden said: Very interesting! I wonder when it will be released...
- Sopp said: 看起来很劲的样子
- Tom Ray said: I've heard the rumor before. but this one actually seems like it be possible.
- francly said: Impressive!! Let's wait
- tobias said: google to build a browser? also some interesting data on the default home page...
- Ian Betteridge said: Yowzah.
- Miguel A. Arévalo said: ¡¡ Más competencia !!
- Alberty Pascal said: Finally ?
- Fredrik H said: En ny browser baserad på webkit: Google Chrome. Tror Opera kommer få svårt att överleva i konkurrents med IE, Firefox, Safari och nu Chrome.

Furbies transformed into a Furby Gurdy (3)

Hack a Day (286) permalink
Filed under: misc hacks, digital audio hacks[David Crammer] must really like nightmares. The hurdy gurdy is a stringed musical instrument, dating as far back as the eleventh century A.D., where the strings are sounded via a rosined wheel that is turned with a crank. [Crammer] took this unique instrument, applied his circuit-bending and Furby-scalping skills to generate a Furby Gurdy that sound like Kraftwerk on acid.[via Gizmodo]Read | Permalink | Email this | Linking Blogs ...Contribute comment -

There’s no doubt about it, I’m in love with the cloud.
