These bloody hand and foot wrist rests aren't meant to taunt your co-workers with adolescent slasher film humor. Their intention is to honor the many who've fallen, organizing spreadsheets and returning company emails and remind you that, at any time, you could be a mouse click away from clicking no more. Just make sure to close that sad bikini model page before you go. [Brando]

Since I already have the breast-shaped gel dispenser installed in my shower, I think I may get this 9-inch-high Nose Shower Gel to put it in my kitchen and dispense lime Jello Mello. Too bad it only exudes gel out of the right nostril, though, because it would make an excellent ketchup and mustard dispenser for just $17.95. [Potpourri via Dark Roasted Blend]

When I saw the press release for BeFit from Jon Brown Designs today, I jumped (well, would you believe moved slowly?) at the chance to post about this app.BeFit works like most food tracking applications in that it lets you count exactly how many calories you're taking in. ...

Samsung's taking its large-capacity 1.8-inch HDs (found inside the Macbook Air, iPod, etc) and throwing them into this sleek bus-powered credit-card-sized casing, which looks to be about as small a form factor we're going to see for a 1.8-inch drive. They're only available in Asia at the moment, and on the high end (120GB) they're pricey (almost $300, but available on Chinese sites for considerably less). On the low end, a 20GB version that can ...

Can a boy be too good a baseball player to play? Here’s a story of 9-year-old Jericho Scott, whose fastball (clocked at 40 mph) was deemed too fast/good/dangerous for the youth baseball league he’s playing: "I think it’s discouraging when you’re telling a 9-year-old you’re too good at something," said his mother, Nicole Scott. "The whole objective in life is to find something you’re good at and stick with it. I’d rather he spend all ...

With all the attention to global warming, are we actually preparing for the right doomsday scenario? Perhaps not, according to physicist Phil Chapman, who thinks that another Ice Age is coming: The reason this matters is that there is a close correlation between variations in the sunspot cycle and Earth’s climate. The previous time a cycle was delayed like this was in the Dalton Minimum, an especially cold period that lasted several decades from 1790. ...

You know how you have that friend—for simplicity's sake, we'll call him Aaron Froucho—that you're never quite sure is gay or straight? What better way to answer the question for all eternity than with a $14 keychain? The thing has three readouts, "gay," "straight" and "maybe," so if you get "maybe," keep asking until it decides one way or the other. Or, if you're feeling lonely, just go with it. Aaron will. Google has quietly added another new feature to its basic search box—single-word translations between English and nine different languages, including French, Italian, and Spanish. To use it, type in "translate" followed by the word you want to convert to English, or add "into French," for example, to change over English words. The results are pulled from Google's translation dictionary tool, and while the search box can't take more than single phrases or words, it can ...

Anyone interested in design and architecture can appreciate the brilliant combination of modern materials and contemporary lifestyle patterns inhabitated in the classic mid-century modern ranch home.
