Dear readers, I leaved mPrest, the company, I worked for last 5 years and joined the project, that aspires to make the World better. Currently, I cannot disclosure too much, but briefly, I will not consult and manage client's projects anymore. This does not mean, that I'm quitting Microsoft and it's technologies, I'm just beginning to develop product(s). Also, I'll keep blogging. It will be probably less "problem solutions" and more "how the stuff works", ...

Continuing our coverage of the mainstream web, in this post we look at some of the most popular websites for kids. We've gathered information from a recent report (pdf) from Nielsen Online, via Marketingvox, which studied the online habits of Britons under the age of 23. We also polled friends of RWW via Twitter. The Nielsen report concluded that entertainment sites have the greatest affinity with under 12s, games sites for 12-17 year-olds, and student ...

The folks at BestofMedia, the parent company of TomsHardware have set a new overclocking world record by pushing a Core 2 Quad Q6600 (65nm) normally running at 2.4Ghz to 5.11218Ghz, which is a new record. They have been using liquid nitrogen cooling (-41°C) and have spend a fair amount of time finding the best voltage setting. Multipliers details here. Video from bestofmedia. This setup is not practical for a real-life use, but you should know ...

Filed under: Tech, FordThe rapidly shrinking US auto market has left automakers scrambling for any way to differentiate their products from the competition, and the fastest way to get the job done is with technology. Microsoft is all too aware of this, and the tech giant is betting big on automotive to give itself a larger presence in a rapidly growing field. Microsoft has increased both staffing and funding by 30% in an effort to ...

Fans of the Star Wars franchise who own a Nintendo Wii can finally have a more realistic gaming experience with the Laser Sword add-on. Although it would work best with the Star Wars universe in mind, the Laser Sword would still double up as a decent weapon for sword-based games on the motion-capable console. A strong light covered the entire sword's surface, powered by three AAA batteries. You can choose to permanently leave the light ...

This weekend was my stepsister's wedding and as is traditional in England in July, the grass we stood on to take photos was still a little damp from an earlier downpour, leading to many a sunken, muddy high heel disaster (for once, I was sensible and wore wedges: yay me). Disaster could have been averted, however, if the vertiginously-heeled among us had been aware of a new invention from Solemates: The High Heeler. This nifty ...

Called the G.R.A.D., this knife gun holds five .22-caliber bullets in a revolver-like barrel and fires at the squeeze of the handle. Video after the break. That's a potential danger, however, if you get in a bar fight with someone carrying this ridiculous knife/gun contraption. [via Dvice]

Summer is here, and Thanko is on a mission to keep things cool with their new Thanko Cooler USB keyboard. It works pretty much the same way as those bowling lane machines do, featuring air vents to keep those fingers and palms dry. Good thing the built-in fan comes with a switch on the front end of the keyboard, as you can turn it off whenever you don't need it. A trio of fans will ...

So you think you've got a pretty spiffy clock at home? Well, the 768 LED Clock will certainly, er, outclock you? The main reason for the number 768 is due to the exact amount of LED bulbs that make up the entire clock. Perfect for clock watchers at the office as they count down the minutes remaining before they get to leave their cubicle to have a life outside of the office's fourwalls. The 768 ...

Whether you want to tell people that this table is supposed to represent blood or red paint, the awesome design is totally inspirational. The “Paint or Die But Love Me” Table designed by John Nouanesing seems to be melting. And if not melting, than not even solid in the first place, but rather a paint spill suspended in motion. There’s a very good reason that people put sheets all over their furniture when they paint ...

Window panes that generate power via solar power are becoming a reality. This makes so much sense, as there’s all that wasted sun energy pouring through those glass panes all day. Nihon Telecommunications Systems has released some pricey ($1,900 per square foot) but useful solar windows. At maximum levels, these can generate up to 70 watts per square meter, which is enough to power up small personal devices or a computer. Power is drawn off ...
