Looks like Kodak is shipping the Zi6, their Flip-esque $180 HD video camera. Scott Stevenson: The hardest thing to explain is how satisfying the overall experience of using the thing is. If you just glanced at the product site, you might think it’s a somewhat awkward, bulky device. But that’s not the impression I’m left with. It completely gets out of the way and just delivers great-looking video with minimal fuss and super-simple import. ★

Dane missed qualifying for the Olympics 4 separate times, each by a few minutes. He didn’t give up after each loss, he just improved his sailing skills. It would have been too easy to give up after losing one or two ...

The new book “The Time Paradox” by Philip Zimbardo and John Boyd is worth checking out because of one simple premise. Instead of trying to “manage” time (which you can’t do anyway because time can’t be managed), we need to understand how each of us “perceive” time. It’s not about time management, but the “psychology” of time. This really caught my attention because I understand the concept of perception from my work in branding. The ...

Greg Gianforte is the dude who started RightNow Technologies in Bozeman and they do the Help Desk/Knowledge base software for TONS of big websites out there. I got to see his philosophy in action when he was first getting started. He recruited me to help him build up the PERL (programming language) KB so he could 'give it' to the community and get some more people using the system. It seems to have worked! As luck would have it, the next week we found out R was pregnant and we moved to Helena so I didn't get in on that one.

I was in a three-hour meeting yesterday. I’m meeting averse, you know that. But one of the things I liked about this meeting was when the guy in charge stopped someone mid-sentence and said “Don’t say everyone or no one. It doesn’t mean anything.” We all do this. We try to justify our position by saying “No one knows…” or “Everyone knows…” or some derivative thereof. When you throw around these extremes you weaken your ...
