Yikes. After Carole Migden was heard "berating" her Capitol staff yesterday, they were told to stay home today. Egads, right? According to Sacto Bee: Enedina Hidalgo, the director of personnel for the state Senate, overheard Migden screaming, according to a witness to the event. At around "12:05 a.m. near the intersection of 26th Street and Folsom Street" this morning, SFPD responded to a call regarding another shooting incident. And there? They found an unidentified man laced with bullet wounds. He later died at SF General. Ugh. Oh, and no arrests have been made. Yet. (SF Crime, SFGate)

For months, the Charles Chocolates factory in Emeryville has planned to show Charlie and the Chocolate Factory on Friday as the final and most appropriate installment of its summer movie series. But in an exciting twist of fate, the evening will now be a double-feature and screen the original Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory as well. Proprietor Chuck Siegel won't be serving fizzy lifting drinks, but he will have his sinfully rich hot chocolate ...

The Sunset district's own Shannon Rowbury is officially kinda, sorta "the fastest woman alive"! The freckly, superadorable 23-year-old Sacred Heart alum recorded the fastest qualifying time of all runners in this year's 1,500-meter olympic qualifying trials. Take that, Kenya! She ran her first her first preliminary heats yesterday morning, and will run for the gold on Saturday. Should she win, she'll join Ben Wildman-Tobriner as the only actual, current San Francisco residents to win gold ...
