SAN FRANCISCO (AFP) – Intel on Thursday showed off a wireless electric power system that analysts say could revolutionize modern life by freeing devices from transformers and wall outlets. Intel chief technology officer Justin Rattner demonstrated a Wireless Energy Resonant Link as he spoke at the California firm's annual developers forum in San Francisco. Electricity was sent wirelessly to a lamp on stage, lighting a 60 watt bulb that uses more power than a typical ...Shared by Adam Debreczeni (13) Alexandru Burciu (21) Ali Shah (0) Ankur (16) benexia (2) Bryan (8) Caleb Brown (10) Carl Mercier (1) Connor Russell (1) Coop (25) Daniel Shine (4) DAVE (17) Dave (36) Dave Dugal (13) david miron (129) Donald Jenkins (2) Dustin Russell (4) elmarco (5) Eric Atkins (23) etng (25) Folletto Malefico (2) Ian Mikutel (5) Icefreez (18) Isaac Bythewood (1) Jake Lumetta (0) James Argyle (9) Jason Remnant (15) Jayel Aheram (3) Jeremiah Taylor (2) Joe D'Andrea (20) Jonathan Wilson (3) joseph (0) Kevin De Mulder (24) kevin oshea (9) Kevin Sablan (32) Kyle Saric (0) Mark Frost (8) Matthew Snyder (5) Mike Villar (9) mikestopforth (2) Mr. BabyMan (366) Nick Barber (26) quicket (7) Rami Taibah (453) ratward (33) Rene Rattur (69) Rick Harrison (14) Ruben (2) Ryan Rabac (14) Stanley (19) Stephanie Hicks (141) Steven Long (5) Stijn (22) Tom Cheredar (1) Tom Laker (6) Tyson Williams (58) willpate (0) Zac (10) Zaf (6)- Eric Atkins said: o_O

Rumored iTunes subscription would be a bargain (23)

Hack Your Wii for Homebrew Apps and DVD Playback [Wii] (214)

Lifehacker (7451) permalink
Despite the fact that it ships with a DVD drive, for whatever godforsaken reason, the Nintendo Wii doesn't support DVD playback—until last week, that is, when a homebrew hacker released a tool that enables DVD playback on your Wii. The best part? You don't have to crack open your Wii or disturb your hardware in any way to install it. - Jorge said: This is a nice detail on how to set up Wii homebrew and DVD playback. I've been running the Homebrew Channel for a couple of months now. I rented Zelda from Blockbuster to install it (f'n $8 for a 5-day rental). By far my favorite Wiibrew app is FCE Ultra, the classic NES emulator. The Wiimote works great for it since the system only had two buttons. It's really nice to have the SD available for installing new Wii homebrew (like the DVD player) as it comes along. I haven't tried the DVD player yet, but I may soon.
