Google to Offer its Own Browser: Chrome - ReadWriteWeb (94)

Google watchdog Phillip Lessen has scanned and posted a printed comic he says he received in the mail from Google today describing the company's forthcoming open source browser Chrome. The link to Chrome is currently a 404. Long rumored to be in the works, this appears to be the first formal acknowledgment that Google really is working on its own browser - and it looks very cool. Will you drop Firefox and use Chrome instead? ...Shared by 88michael (6) aak (1) Abhishek (5) Adam (16) AJ (161) Alex (8) Andrew (7) Andy (6) Anna Richter (2) Anthony Romano (8) arjo (25) asblogger (19) atul (70) BNPrade (1) Bob Caswell (15) Bob Hazlett (5) Bobbi Newman (15) Brian (26) Caleb (5) CannonGod (190) Chris L (20) Christopher Martin (60) Corvida (60) Dedalus (16) Dimitar D (35) Drew Olanoff (117) dryan (6) Dzu (19) Earl E Morningwood (37) Emily Malloy (1) Eric Herberholz (31) fordchao (43) Forrest (21) Glenn (23) Götz (23) GUNA (17) Hari Kishore (2) Henk-Jan van der Klis (9) Hisham (21) Jandy (11) Jason R. As I've said before, it would take something HUGE for me to switch from firefox. But innovations like these are great for competition, and will push the industry forward.

Google Blogoscoped posts an interesting comic book created by Scott McCloud that illustrates the features of Google Chrome, an open source browser based on WebKit. As usually, all the rumors related to Google are true and "Google Browser" is no exception.Google Chrome has been built in a time when browsers no longer render mostly web pages, but full-blown web applications. That's why browsers need to be more powerful, more stable and more secure. Mind mapping is a way of taking notes, capturing ideas, exploring concepts and breaking down information into a more readily understood format. It’s a place where visual representations and written representations of things merge to create something that is more natural to the mind; it works with and represents the way we think, where as paragraph-based text is not representative of the thought process at all. Posted by Regan Burns It's Labor Day weekend -- perhaps the tastiest weekend of the year! I don't know about you, but for me the next few days are packed with backyard parties (and the food that goes along with them). I love attending parties, but always spend so much time obsessing about what to bring.
