on ProBlogger Blog Tips (255) permalinkOver at the ProBlogger Room on FriendFeed Keith asks a good question that has stimulated a whole stream of thought for me. He asks: “If you have a blog post that clearly outperforms all other posts (more than double the traffic in my case) do you capitalize on it by writing more posts on the same topic?” When a post on your blog does better than others there are numerous things that I’d encourage you ...Shared by Adam (7) arshad (106) Desiree (16) dobata (540) elsterama (73) Jeber (9) Maria Reyes-McDavis (2) miguel lucas (7) Sean (23) Shana Albert (160) sharonhurleyhall (21) solidsmack (7) Stephanie Gulley (91) Suzie Cheel (12)Contribute comment

Are RSS Subscriber Numbers Bogus? (17)
on Copyblogger (115) permalinkOne of the things you’ve heard from me over and over is to focus on subscriber acquisition as the main focus of blogging. Getting people to voluntarily pay attention to you over time is your goal, because it’s the cornerstone of permission marketing. Whether you’re dealing with RSS or email subscriptions, not all subscribers are equal. People abandon RSS readers, ignore your content without unsubscribing, or simply don’t check in all that often. Again, this ...Shared by Adam (7) AJ (433) Alex (8) bfernald (81) cvander (18) David Risley (25) dobata (540) J. Should people in glass Facebook offices throw stones? (12)
on VentureBeat (503) permalinkDave Morin, Facebook’s senior platform manager, posted an interesting message on Twitter today: “The government should create open APIs for accessing all publically (sic) available government data. Then, let all of us create great UIs for it.” The comment, while no doubt partially made in jest, was quickly picked up on the social information conversation site FriendFeed. Venture investor and former head of special initiatives at Google, Chris Sacca, was the first to comment: “Why ...Shared by Adam (7) Brit (66) DOCBook Howto (186) iomegadrive (22) Jawad Shuaib (22) Nate (73) ReducedHackers (26) Rex (262) Simon (23) Siva (31) sour.patch (88) Talk (26)

This has created a mini-crisis for those of us that blog professionally – a lot of the best conversation is taking place off-site. Is A GoDaddy VP Bidding Against Customers In Domain Auctions? (6)
on Techdirt (345) permalinkSlashdot is running an interesting post, suggesting that GoDaddy's VP in charge of managing the domain auctions it runs on expired domains, has been caught participating in the auctions himself, often driving up the prices of those auctions for customers. Make Twitter Your Social Aggregator: Create An Extended Profile (65)

Friendfeed replacing Twitter? Yeah, and sometimes when I want an apple, I eat fish instead. (5)
