The 10%-15% capacity cut is expected to reduce the worldwide output by 1%-2%.

Summary: JavaScript Benchmarks aren't adapting well to the rapid increase in JavaScript engine performance. I provide some simple tests for verifying this and propose a modified setup which could be used by all JavaScript Benchmarks to achieve high-quality results. There now exists three, what I would consider to be, major JavaScript performance benchmarks. Each are released by a major browser vendor. WebKit released SunSpider, Mozilla released Dromaeo, Google released the V8 Benchmark. Each suite has ...

A new JavaScript Engine has hit the pavement running: The new V8 engine (powering the brand-new Google Chrome browser). There are now a ton of JavaScript engines on the market (even when you only look at the ones being actively used in browsers): JavaScriptCore: The engine that powers Safari/WebKit (up until Safari 3.1). SquirrelFish: The engine used by Safari 4.0. Note: The latest WebKit nightly for Windows crashes on Dromaeo, so it's passed for now. ...

套用老外形容一个网球手的说法,是she’s got the game。 He’s got the game。

For several years, Ubuntu has been synonymous with user-friendliness. A Web search quickly unearths dozens of articles that suggest that Ubuntu is the distribution you should give non-technical people to introduce them to GNU/Linux. It even won a "Most User-Friendly Linux Distribution" award, which you might think confirms its status. <!--break--> However, like all conventional wisdom, this association is worth exploring. For one thing, you have to wonder whether comparisons for user-friendliness have any relevance ...

Matt's advice may seem simple but it isn't, primarily because it goes against the grain of "blogging". A blogger quickly learns that he/she has to be REAL. This means saying more than the reader expects, opening the golden doors of your inner sanctum (office) and sharing things as if they were a trusted friend. But, as Matt said, that is dangerous if your rep is linked to a corporation. In my opinion, that is one of the reasons why most "company blogs" fall flat and become, as Doug Karr once put it... "clogs".
