Adaptive Path, in collaboration with Mozilla labs has release the above video of a concept browser of the future, Aurora. With Aurora, Adaptive Path attempts to define a plausible vision of how technology, the browser, and the web might evolve in the future by depicting that experience in a variety of real-world contexts. The video itself covers interaction with data and a user interface different to today’s norms. Voice interaction is meshed with data collaboration, ...

You know what little startup companies need these days? They need to hire more people! It may be a frightening thought, but in an increasingly social world - being social is becoming an important full time job. "Community Manager" is a position increasingly being hired for at large corporations (see Jeremiah Owyang's growing list of people with that kind of job) but what about smaller companies? We asked a number of people what they thought ...

Interesting. I've very rarely heard community manager as a role in startups. Then again, the idea of product manager at a startup is often split into 3 or more roles: product marketer, product planner, program manager, project manager.

New Zealand will be the first country in the world to get the Apple iPhone 3G, because of the country's position on the international dateline. Vodafone NZ is the carrier which is offering the iPhone, but its pricing plans - released today - have attracted a storm of criticism. Vodafone NZ has decided to charge extortionist prices for the iPhone 3G. Kiwis (including yours truly) are naturally outraged. The top of the line price is ...

So somebody else built a successful business on that idea you had three years ago. What does that mean? That if you would just have pursued that idea, you would now automatically be enjoying their spoils? Sorry to burst your bubble, but I really don’t think so. Ideas on their own are just not that important. It’s incredibly rare that someone comes up with an idea so unique, so protectable that the success story writes ...

David via Signal vs. Noise shared by 11 people Startup mythology demands that to create something great, you need superhuman sacrifices. You need to work for no pay, you need to put in 120 hours/week, you need to preferably sleep under the desk and live off pizza as a sole form of nutricient. As a result, you need to abandon your family and risk life without insurance. Hogwash! We’ve repeated this story so many times ...
