Dell doesn't take its site down when it introduces product unlike some laptop peddlers. The result, however, is shots like this of early pre-release gear like the Inspiron Mini 9 netbook as Dell spins the product up for retail. $449 fully spec'd just like we heard with 8GB SSD, 1GB memory, Bluetooth 2.1, Windows XP, and a 1.3 megapixel webcam. We still expect to see a lesser spec'd $349 model running Ubuntu. Shipping on the ...

I’m sorry, I can’t help it - I’m a sucker for mashups. Which is why I have to bring the latest one to your attention: Tumbltape. It’s exactly how it sounds: a Muxtape for Tumblr. Just when you thought Muxtape was gone for good, it has inspired John Zanussi and Adam Gotterer to catch on the music sharing wave and create Tumbltape, which takes the latest songs (aka - audio files) from each user’s tumblelog ...

Google has responded with haste to the huge outcry about a section in Chrome's EULA that gives Google "a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free, and non-exclusive license" to do all kinds of dirty stuff—in public no less—to content you post through Chrome. Rebecca Ward, Senior Product Counsel for Google Chrome, told Ars that it's actually an oopsie from basically copying and pasting the same EULA it uses in other products, and that they're updating it as ...

Filed under: Social Software, BlackBerryThe BlackBerry application marketplace might not be as easy to navigate at Apple's App Store and Java might not be as much fun as Cocoa Touch for developers, but there are still some great BlackBerry applications out there. 10 of my favorites: Opera Mini -- BlackBerry 4.5 is supposed to have a much-improved built-in browser (my carrier hasn't officially upgraded yet, so I'm unsure), but Opera Mini is a great alternative. ...

As I mentioned the other day, the Flex team has released a ton of information on Flex 4. One of the new features which I am most excited about is the FXG graphic format being developed. What is FXG? From the spec: FXG 1.0 describes an XML-based graphics interchange format for the Flash Platform. FXG contains high-level graphical and text primitives that can be used to create, group, transform and visually modify basic vector and ...

On Monday google announced a beta of Gears for Safari. Gears allows the content of supporting webapps to be stored locally thus available when you are offline. After installing Gears for Safari and tinkering a bit I was happy to find it working without many problems. Later I was pleasantly surprised to find that Gears was also showing up and working in Fluid! I fired up my Google Reader SSB and speedily downloaded 2000ish articles ...
