We've highlighted the treadmill-plus-computer concept before, including how you can use it to burn 600 calories a day while typing. Now the New York Times highlights how the treadputer is helping out in the office: "It is tempting to become distracted during conference calls, but when [you are] exercising, [you listen] more intently."

Filed under: Developer, App StoreAn iPhone developer who created an app that manages and plays podcasts says the app was disqualified from the App Store because "it duplicates the functionality of the Podcast section of iTunes." That's right, iTunes for the desktop. This opens up unsettling possibilities for other developers. There are many applications that duplicate the functionality of Apple software for both the desktop and mobile devices. For instance, there are many calculators that ...

Web site StopForwarding.Us sends a polite, anonymous email to a contact asking them to stop spamming your inbox with forwards. Explaining to a contact—especially one you don't know all that well—that you're not keen on their forwarding habit can be a touchy situation. StopForwarding.Us makes it easy: Just submit the spammer's name and email address, and the site will send them an email asking them to please stop their forwarding habit. For example: Please do ...

One of the strangest cases in IT history continues to bubble in San Francisco, as the actions and motivations of city network administrator Terry Childs are evaluated and weighed. Depending on who you listen to, Childs is either an over-dedicated employee, or a deranged network killer, and the investigation could shed a great deal of light on goings-on within SF's IT infrastructure. Filed under: Odds and ends, iPhone This Business Week article describes the rising demand for first generation iPhones. "Shelf prices" (using eBay values of virtual shelves) for the 16GB iPhone are currently at about $600, and $500 for 8GB models. In other words, the $250 AT&T refurb specials from March are now worth roughly double what you paid for them. From easy-unlocking to contract-free usage to eco-consumerism, consumers are looking for those original units and ...

Well at least its your fault if you haven't updated to firmware version 2.0.2 according to AT&T. There has been a lot of recent speculation and even a lawsuit about the reception issues with the 3g iPhone. First the 3g chip was blamed for the reception issues and then later refuted in a study. Now an internal source at AT&T has shed some light on the issue providing details about what the 2.0.2 update did ...

It's a different skating world. If you've ever skated, you've got the motor skills (due to "muscle memory"), and you'll be surprised at how much fun you can have skating downhill with today's boards. Here are three unique skateboards meant for downhill, ...

In a fast-paced business culture of "get everything done yesterday," it's easy to admire and reward those busybusy people who always seem to be juggling 14 things at once. But business coach Dave Crenshaw argues that the most common kind of multitasking doesn't boost productivity—it slows you down. In his new book, The Myth of Multitasking: How "Doing It All" Gets Nothing Done, Crenshaw explains the difference between "background tasking"—like watching TV while exercising—and "switchtasking," ...

Last weekend, GuerilLA held an impromptu Finish Line on The Strand in Manhattan Beach, CA. The race was complete with a Finish Line sign, finish line tape, water tables, supportive signs, journalists, photographers, videographers, and a large cheering group of people spread along a quarter mile of The Strand. Runners and cyclists had no idea that they were actually near the end of a marathon, until the last second!
