Google Chrome makes browsing shiny (1)

Because we simply can never have enough web browsers, Google is introducing their own. I suppose it proves the axiom that if you repeat a rumor long enough, it eventually becomes true. Their explanation for its creation is that our web browsers have become hubs for a growing part of our computing experience. We have office applications, email, chat, games, and social networking all within our browsers. This is all certainly true, but the real ...Shared by Brad Garland (6)Contribute comment -

Socialcast on Tuesday is launching a revision of its group communication service. Originally released in 2007, Tuesday's update has a much cleaner and more contemporary interface, and liberally borrows features and ideas from social sites such as Facebook, Twitter, and Friendfeed. I was very impressed by the demo I got last week. Socialcast appears to have a solid, lightweight product for business communication that could help workers (along with customers and clients) keep up to ...Shared by Andrew Ruess (97) aNTwNHs (74) Brad Garland (6) Corvida (61) Dimitar D (36) dobata (324) DOCBook Howto (98) Mike F (371) MrGuff (76) Zenith (13)Contribute comment -

I’ve been noodling around with a PowerPoint-slash-video approach to explaining the value of Enterprise Web 2.0 (or whatever you want to call social media behind the firewall) ever since I read an article that rejected its usefulness. The presentation has been evolving over the last couple months, and I finally decided to just finish it rather than continue trying to tweak and refine it. It is long—nearly 25 minutes, too long for YouTube—so be warned. ...Shared by Antoine van Dinter (6) Brad Garland (6) Dave Fleet (5) Jane Rowe (1) RichardatDELL (4) Sallie Goetsch (11) Simon Young (29)Contribute comment -

Tom points us to this fascinating concept. It's called the uncanny valley and it goes back as far as Freud. When you get too good at faking it, people freak out.
