Writing Mahou; a Cappuccino Image Search (1)

Irrational Exuberance (6) permalink
I spent most of the day getting to know Cappuccino and developing a simple but slightly interesting application with it. First I'll quickly skim over the application I developed, and then I'll discuss my experience developing with Cappuccino. I put together Mahou, using Vik Singh's adaptation of the Yahoo! Boss Mashup Framework to Google App Engine and Cappuccino to create a somewhat featureful image search. There are two particularly interesting features in Mahou: If you ...Shared by tig (48)Contribute comment -

With all the news about Chrome, it's been pretty easy to forget about one of Firefox's recent releases: Ubiquity. We gave Ubiquity a rave review for giving Firefox a whole new UI. The standard commands, or "verbs", that come with Ubiquity are great. Yet we couldn't help but want more. Developers have been working around the clock to produce some fantastic custom verbs for Ubiquity. Here is ReadWriteWeb's list of the top picks of custom ...Shared by (jeff)isageek (52) Ahmed (72) AJ (198) Alex (36) alfred westerveld (32) Andrew Trinh (43) Andy (4) arturo.servin (27) atul (96) b (73) Bob Hazlett (12) Brandon Ball (28) Caleb Kimbrough (6) Cameron (21) CannonGod (257) Carlos Guadian (20) Ch (132) Charles Shopsin (6) Chmiche (37) Chris J Guerra (27) Christopher (54) Corvida (95) Dan McCall (24) dobata (441) Doron T. Forrester Defines the Cloud, But We Beg to Differ (5)

A new report out from Forrester takes a chart-filled look at cloud computing, offering the analyst firm’s own definition of the cloud and attempting to dispel three myths they have noticed. Since we at GigaOM buy pretty heavily into two of these so-called myths — namely that a cloud is comprised of a scalable virtualized server environment and that it’s a low-margin business — I was eager to see where we had been led astray. ...- bhc3 said: "A new report out from Forrester takes a chart-filled look at cloud computing, offering the analyst firm’s own definition of the cloud and attempting to dispel three myths they have noticed. As everyone already knows, Google released a new open-source web browser called Chrome. Having interest in code reuse, I downloaded the source code and examined all the open-source libraries used. Google Chrome browser shows excellent example of code reuse. I found that they use at least 25 different software libraries! Here is the full list of libraries, along with relative paths to source code and short library descriptions. Many of the libraries have been patched ...Shared by Artem Khodush (7) Brandon M.
