I'm a web developer who has design and programming experience. So, VB, ASP, PHP, Coldfusion, Perl, even C and C++ I have in my belt. I also use Dreamweaver and/or do a lot of my HTML/XHTML/JavaScript coding by hand. So, the DOM, DHTML, etc, all good to me and even OOP thinking and design I have when I code. And I even have MySQL and other databases, again, not an issue here. So, my weak ...Contribute comment -

Lambda the Ultimate - Programming Languages Weblog (21) permalink
Chris Lattner's post last week to cfe-dev, "Blocks" in Clang (aka closures), has generated a certain amount of enthusiasm, since Clang is, or will be, a compiler for C to LLVM (cf. LLVM 1.5 has been released!). The representation of closures as blocks resembles the technique used for Poletto's 'C language; cf. the related discussion on The MetaC Language.Contribute comment -

Objective-C Style Guide (1)

Planet Mozilla (71) permalink
Ever wonder what style Googlers use when they write C++ or Objective-C? Looking for a reasonable guide on which to base a new project? Well, we've recently open-sourced both guides. You can check them out at the google-styleguide project. While I had nothing to do with the C++ guide, I had a lot to do with the Obj-C guide so I'm excited that it's finally open and usable as a reference for others. Harald Welte reports in a blog post that VIA has released an open source Xorg driver for their integrated graphics chips. "I am very happy to see this! It's one more step that VIA has been working on to improve and show their support for Free Software and Linux. Please notice that this driver (as opposed to VIA's proprietary binary-only Xorg driver) has no support for 3D, hardware video codec or TV encoder support. Instead, I decided to present it to Jacek Śliwerski, the guy behind Open-Tran. There is not a day that I don’t use it for my translations, as I can use its awesome comparisson tools to QA my work! How about you? Have you ...Shared by pclouds (4)Contribute comment - Open-Tran.eu (1)

Please don’t shoot the Bugzilla devs (1)

Planet Mozilla (71) permalink
So bugzilla.mozilla.org got upgraded to Bugzilla 3.2 last night. Since the upgrade, there’s been a lot of complaints about the new UI. First off, given the differences in the way Mozilla uses Bugzilla compared to a lot of other places, some of these complaints are valid. But, please try to be polite and state exactly why you think you have issues and suggest ways for improvement.
