KELLY MARIE: FEELS LIKE I'M IN LOVE (1)
permalinkReally odd disco video from 1980. Love the low-heeled white ankle boots, but Kelly seems almost resentful (or nervous?) at first but gets into it by the time she does her kick. I think she's singing live. I met her the Black Cap pub in London 10 years ago and she still sang the hell out of that song. That one high note is insane!Shared by lilly (32)

on Valleywag: Google (0) permalink"We have a preference for those who like to work and play hard," the search giant candidly informs potential candidates for openings for a compliance manager, senior internal auditor, financial project analyst, senior internal controls auditor, management accountant, internal audit treasury manager, accounting manager, internal audit manager, and technology risk analyst. Doesn't exactly conjure up the image of a white-haired 58-year-old Type II diabetic, does it? Bill Gates and Warren Buffett Discuss "Creative Capitalism" (1)
permalinkThis is the transcript of a discussion between Bill Gates and Warren Buffett about Bill’s concept of “creative capitalism.” The discussion, over lunch at the Gates residence in Medina, Washington, took place on May 15, 2008. Also at the table were Melinda Gates, Josh Daniel of the Gates Foundation, and me. I started by asking Warren what he thought of the whole idea. As you can see, he didn’t fall for that one. --Michael Kinsley ...Shared by lilly (32)

Harvard study questions 'Long Tail' theory (1)
on core77.com's design blog (884) permalinkThe Long Tail theory, as explained by its creator, Wired magazine editor Chris Anderson, holds that society is "increasingly shifting away from a focus on a relatively small number of 'hits' (mainstream products and markets) at the head of the demand curve and toward a huge number of niches in the tail." In a recent study Anita Elberse, a marketing professor at Harvard's business school, looked at data for online video rentals and song purchases, ...Shared by lilly (32)Contribute comment
