If we has these deep chaise lounges in a garden, we would never need to leave home to escape. The deep, wide cushions invite us to sink in while the canopy assures us we can lounge safely in the shade...Made of handcast aluminum and water repellent Sunbrella fabrics, the Andalusia collection is available at Garden Architects. No prices are available on the website which is usually a bad sign, but we just had to share ...

Washington Spaces magazine features luxurious outdoor rooms from DC-area homes. These outdoor rooms look bigger than our home! As it's Escapes Month, we can dream about these spaces. More photos below the jump... The glass and steel structure conservatory shown above the jump was designed to look like buidings in the 1850's. The Victorian cabana shown on this page was built to match the home owners' historic 1880 house. >>To All AT Washington Posts

One of our favorite Escapes ever was the week we spent in Prague a couple of years ago. We admit it- we love Prague. We love it for its beautiful music, for its elaborate castle, for its friendly people, and most of all for its incredible architecture. In a city renowned for its Baroque and Gothic buildings, it is encouraging to find that some architects are pushing the envelope of modern design...The Dancing House pictured ...

We spied this idea on Burnham Design's website: a daughter's bedroom done up in white and a light blue with the smallest touches of lipstick red. But what really caught our attention was the "headboard": instead of using an actual headboard, blue racing stripes are painted in place...and travels across the ceiling to the other side of the room. We love the look of a freestanding or independent bookcase that doesn't need a wall to feel stable in a space. While it's common to place a bookshelf against a wall, setting the case in the room or floating near another piece of furniture allows for a new design flow and interest in your space. We love CB2s Axis storage unit shown in their new Fall catalog. The mix and match style allows you to ...

One of our favorite styles is the "Mod Victorian" look characterized by bringing together two seemingly disparate ideas: the opulence of Victorian design and the minimalist tendencies of modernism.
