There’s a piece in Forbes called Why A Four-Day Work Week Doesn’t Work that suggests: But there are serious drawbacks. Packing 40 hours into four days isn’t necessarily an efficient way to work. Many people find that eight hours are tough enough; requiring them to stay for an extra two could cause morale and productivity to decrease. As for saving on the cost of commuting, it likely isn’t true. The article is right: More hours ...

The point of the 4-day work week is about doing less work. It’s not about 4 10-hour days for the magical 40-hour work week. It’s about 4 normalish 8-hour days for the new and improved 32-hour work week. The numbers are just used to illustrate a point. Results, not hours, are what matter, but working longer hours doesn’t translate to better results. The law of diminishing returns kicks in quick when you’re overworked.

Over the past few days the media has been buzzing about a trio of men who claim to have found Bigfoot - or Bigfeet to be specific - the men say that they’ve actually found a small tribe of the creatures. Today, they held a press conference in Palo Alto where they described their encounter with the beast in great detail. And because this may be one of the most important scientific discoveries of all ...

CD Baby founder Derek Sivers interviews Tim Ferriss, author of The 4-Hour Workweek. Fascinating stuff. Below are some of the most interesting Ferriss bits from the interview. Why you shouldn’t view changes as permanent: So what would happen if you eliminated this? Let’s just say 48 hours, seven days, one month? What would happen if you did the opposite? Those are two very, very useful questions. Most people avoid certain actions because they view changes ...

Water is resource that needs to be conserved and recycled. Thus far, dish drying racks have been wasteful devices since perfectly good water drains into the sink. However, this Herb & Spice Dish Drying Rack, inspired by the design of traditional channel irrigation systems, directs the run-off water to a section in which herbs or spices, such as mint, lemon verbena or thyme, can be grown. Oh and the dish dividers kinda look like trees ...
