With all the news about Chrome, it's been pretty easy to forget about one of Firefox's recent releases: Ubiquity. We gave Ubiquity a rave review for giving Firefox a whole new UI. The standard commands, or "verbs", that come with Ubiquity are great. Yet we couldn't help but want more. Developers have been working around the clock to produce some fantastic custom verbs for Ubiquity. Here is ReadWriteWeb's list of the top picks of custom ...Shared by (jeff)isageek (53) Ahmed (72) AJ (208) Alex (36) alfred westerveld (32) Andrew Trinh (43) Andy (4) arturo.servin (27) atul (96) b (73) Bob Hazlett (12) Brandon Ball (28) Caleb Kimbrough (6) Cameron (21) CannonGod (257) Carlos Guadian (20) Ch (132) Charles Shopsin (6) Chmiche (37) Chris J Guerra (27) Christopher (54) Corvida (95) Dan McCall (24) dobata (441) Doron T. I just wanted to remind my fellow Mac users that they really aught to be using Plex to play back all their movies. (And I do mean movies—a quick clip here and there, you’re best served by VLC or mplayer.) A new version, 0.5.15, was released two days ago, and includes all the usual bug fixes that you’d expect. What’s unexpected, though, is the complete revamp of the application’s branding: new logo, splash screen, default ...Shared by Andrew Ruess (125) aNTwNHs (80) Bwana (77) David (35) guttertec (50) Kenny (6) Kevin (32) TO-Double-D (26)Contribute comment - Ylastic Blog (1)

Philips Demoing Net TV - When Will Web TV Work On The Sofa? (7)

Approximately none of the electronics makers have so far developed a satisfactory product that brings web TV to the big plasma in the lounge (BBC's Ashley Highfield called both Microsoft (NSDQ: MSFT) and Apple (NSDQ: AAPL) solutions "sub-optimal"). But that could be about to change, with Philips using Berlin's IFA electronics market this week to demo "Net TV"… Net TV is essentially a television with an IPTV chip built in. Philips is currently gathering partners ...Shared by Adam (17) Alex (36) guttertec (50) Lyle Clarke (4) Mike F (493) Raanan Avidor (10) Robert Scoble (83)Contribute comment - Cloud computing and the coming clone wars (1)
