Why Apple won't drop Intel chipsets any time soon (34)

Apple Mac and iPod refresh in September (14)

iTunes 7.7.1 is Out (15)

Gizmodo (3801) permalink
No word on what it does besides "improve stability and performance". Keep in mind that this comes a few days after iPhone app DRM was cracked, so if you're dabbling in the black arts of app swapping, you probably want to wait til someone else reports on whether this affects that or not before upgrading.Shared by Adrian Bacon (20) Alexander13 (467) Avi (713) Bert (0) BobTheCorkDwarf (3) Clay Collins (5) Dale (0) Doug Adams (128) James McQuillan (15) JonMoss-theappleofmyi (30) Marshall Bose (0) Mihalcea Razvan (303) Mr. BabyMan (366) Ritu (677) yellowchilli (7)Contribute comment -

Apple Tells Retailers to Stock Up on Current Macs and iPods (43)

If you needed a bigger hint that new iPods and MacBooks (whatever form they take) are around the corner, AppleInsider is reporting that Apple has "strongly suggested" to its retail channel partners to stock up on at least four weeks worth of their best-selling iPod models, and at least three weeks worth of MacBooks and MacBook Pros. This indicates they're ramping down production of current models, and gearing up for fresh goods in early to ...Shared by adam (972) Andrew Schott (73) Avi (713) Barry (21) Benjamin (1053) Chet Nichols III (0) Christopher Gillespie (4) Dale (0) downbeat (37) Eric Chen (121) Erwin Tang Yew Hon (52) hikbi (109) Humberto Gonzalez (43) Inthenameofmine (406) James Cole (0) Jeff Gorndt (38) Jonathan (16) Jonathan (35) Jordan Calhoun (8) junior (13) Justin (5) Justin Drouillard (1) Leslie (0) Mahesh Basantani (111) Mary Alice (12) Mihalcea Razvan (303) Nikollas Ordway (70) panuta (1) Pete (7) Rami Taibah (478) Rey Ramos (8) rkalajian (47) rony john (50) ryan.capote (100) Samuel (52) Sig Gislason (30) Steve (9) Techboy (17) Thomas (3) Tom (0) Tuneguru (7) tweez (37)Contribute comment -

Voice Dialing iPhone App Available for $25 (8)
on
Gizmodo (3801) permalink
The previously good Voice Dial jailbreak app for iPhone has made its way onto the App Store, complete with $25 price tag. Voice Dial isn't to be confused with iSpeak, another voice dialing app that will probably hit the App Store sometime. There's another current SpeechCloud voice dialing app on the App Store, and even though it may be free, it's got an average rating of 2.5 stars and reviews saying that it's pretty lousy. ...Shared by Apostolos (11) dagorret.digg@gmail.com (0) Dale (0) Doug (66) G Code (12) guy (626) Kioken (1) Sun Tzu (313)Contribute comment -

IPhone: No Longer the Best IPod Ever? (43)

When the iPhone was first revealed, a long year and a half ago, Steve Jobs proclaimed that it was "The best iPod we've ever made". That was probably true. But with the new iPhone Remote application, this may no longer be the case. Tom, from The Small Wave, took a look at the native iPod interface and the new Remote interface, and the Remote app wins. iPhone App Store Games Hacked - All Apps Hackable! (89)
on
Gizmodo (3801) permalink
Apple's Fairplay DRM, which protects all the applications you download from iTunes, has been hacked. The method for hacking this has actually been around for a while, but has been recently applied to Super Monkey Ball and distributed into the wild. To do this, you'll need a jailbroken iPhone and SSH installed (to transfer the game and to fiddle with permissions). The theory is a bit techy and complex, but the execution isn't too insane ...Shared by Abraham Velazquez (2) Adam Maldonado (155) Adi wong (3) Andrew (0) Apostolos (11) Avi (713) beanj007 (5) Beau Giles (18) Bernard Bolduc (5) Brian (86) Chantal (56) Charli Wag (31) Chetan Thaker (41) chris (407) Chris Shearer (5) Christian Davis (7) Clint Ecker (21) Compulsivo (46) crashtron (17) Cubby Brendle (15) cybersleeper (0) Dale (0) Digg Boss (641) DOCBook Howto (116) Dominic Foster (297) downbeat (37) Ed Cline (27) Eduardo batista (8) Emmett (16) Eric (3) Eric Chen (121) Evan Sims (46) Gabriel (9) George Perham (4) guy (626) hikbi (109) Humberto Gonzalez (43) Ira White Jr. (0) Jamie Wallis (25) Jason Herron (8) Jen (48) Joey Foxenberger (17) Jojo (47) JonRohan (14) Joshua (13) Jules (28) Justin (5) Kamran Hashmi (93) Kevin (32) Kevin Federline (270) Kyle Saric (0) Martin Gordon (12) Matt (0) Matt (19) Matt Ellsworth (27) Mazz (54) mcfreak (0) Michael Liu (12) mike (18) Mike Gdovin (0) mr_gadget (152) naseer (2) Nate (0) neal (530) Nik Outchcunis (6) Nikole (17) Nikollas Ordway (70) Norman Hammer (11) Paul Kennedy (0) R (35) Reg Saddler (Zaibatsu) (249) Reid Ellis (8) Rick Foelsch (0) Ryan (14) Ryan Smith (0) sirmikester (17) Steve (9) Steve Nimmons (74) SuperSpiker (2) Taizo Shiozaki (2) Timothy John (0) Toby (176) Tony Manco (49) Trent Lloyd (4) trevor (6) Trevor Wermund (134) Tyson Williams (58) Uzair (203) veilleperso (2)- Martin Gordon said: So much for my thought that the App Store would make piracy non-existent on the iPhone.
