It’s a shame, really. A team of developers have partnered to finally bring a legitimate copy and paste solution to the iPhone - one that can actually move data between different applications (previous solutions could only shuffle data within the same app). But as great as it is to see a team of developers work together to overcome one of the iPhone’s shortcomings, it probably won’t see much use. A few weeks ago, Proximi released ...

Creating email spam lists is a multi-billion dollar business. Most webmail providers long ago closed a number of the more obvious methods spammers used to put together their lists in an automated way. One example - you don’t get bounced email messages from webmail services for emails to address that don’t exist. That way spammers can’t verify if an email address is good unless they get a response (clicking the opt out link is one ...

apple is getting in over their heads with online services. Does anyone remember the earlies iTunes DRM attack? Just intercept the data before the iTunes client has a chance to apply the DRM.

There are ways to do this with Gmail and Google Apps too. It's not quite as straight forward but it's not impossible...

Steve Wozniak is many things: electronics enthusiast, author of iWoz, former fifth-grade teacher, plane-crash survivor, ex-reality-TV-boyfriend of D-list comedian Kathy Griffin, and, oh yeah, co-founder of a company called Apple. You might have heard of it. Today, he put on the hat of former engineer as he spoke to a room of techies at the Intel Developer Forum. The message for them: be true to yourself and don't give up on your dreams - even ...

I see that there's lots of great things about the iPhone; It is nicely designed, has a neat UI, a good web browser and a great media player. But as a user of other smartphones (both S60 and Windows Mobile) for a few years, I really find that the iPhone is to limited and is far, far behind when it comes to almost everything else. When adding all the artificial barriers added by Apple into the mix, it's really hard to understand why anybody would prefer it over say an HTC Touch Pro/Diamond/Cruise or an Samsung i8510.

I have used wireless broadband since back in the old 1xRTT days, the slow precursor to the EV-DO Rev. A I currently enjoy. There's something to be said for the ability to jump online no matter where you are, and today being able to do that at high speed is even better. I have been thinking a lot about my EV-DO connectivity lately and wondered if it's something I could live with at home. The ...
