Synchronicity is an interesting thing. The International Journal of Obesity has an article in the Ahead of Publication section of its online journal showing that replacing bagels with eggs for breakfast increases weight loss, which article I wrote about in my last post. Now comes the British Journal of Nutrition, and in its Ahead of Publication section of this month’s online journal there is an article titled: Increased dietary protein consumed at breakfast leads to ...

There has been a lot of news this week about the impact of artificially created organic chemicals on our bodies. Now a major new finding comfirms what I have been suspecting all along: Bisphenol-A suppresses adiponectin--the hormone in fat that is part of the system that regulates how much additional fat our bodies put away.Bisphenol-A is found in hard plastics like water bottles and baby bottles. It is also used in the lining of food ...

Less than a week after the release of Google (NSDQ:GOOG)'s new Web browser Chrome, security researchers detected a buffer overflow vulnerability that could enable remote attackers to completely take control of a user's computer. The detected buffer overflow vulnerability, deemed critical by security experts, is the result of a boundary error in the handling of the "Save As" function. If a user saves a Web page serving malicious content, the program could cause a stack-based overflow ...

In an Ugly political party"a video aired before delegates at the Republican National Convention included slow-motion footage of a plane striking the World Trade Center, the towers' subsequent collapse, and smoke emerging from the Pentagon."EDIT:Good god. Here's the actual video (with ugly propaganda voice over) that those ghouls showed. With Olberman's reaction afterwords:

POLITICS BUZZ – Yes, it’s what The Daily Show is known best for: recognizing hypocritical blowhards in politics. But this clip, in which Jon Stewart so effortlessly lambasts right-wing luminaries Karl Rove and Bill O’Reilly as they bemoan the alleged sexism being faced by Sarah Palin, is a must-see.And to think: it’s very likely the interns sifting through endless footage at The Daily Show who are quietly rocking the political stratosphere. Go get ‘em, kids. ...

Last week, when we wrote about the FBI's decision to arrest a Guns N' Roses fan who leaked the band's long awaited next album, one of the common responses in the comments was that because GNR had the legal right to do this, it absolutely made sense for the band to have the FBI track down and arrest this guy. While we've pointed it out before, it's worth pointing out again that just because you ...
