Wired.com's iPhone 3G Survey Reveals Network Weaknesses (29)

Wired.com asked iPhone 3G users around the world to test their speeds and enter their data on an interactive map to get a general idea of how 3G was performing -- where it's best and where it's worst -- in light of widespread complaints about the handset's network performance. More than 2,600 people participated and the results suggest that widespread data speed problems have more to do with carriers' networks than with Apple's handsets.Shared by Alan McCluskey (6) AndrewBadera (36) AshTR (17) Benjamin (1009) bittin (194) BrendoMan (115) Bryan (8) Craig (1) Harper (91) Herschell / Special*Dark (9) hybridite (37) Loyolny (3) Marcus (2) Mark Shaw (13) mat honan (0) Matthew (11) Mike (2) Nathan Chase (2) Neil Vallon (39) Omar Gallaga (4) Philippe Martin (29) Robert Birming (33) sascha (8) Stephen (12) Steve (30) steyblind (7) Tim Trentham (1) Trackknife (2) xxdesmus (71)- Craig said: Once again, Australia sucks at the Internet. We have the slowest download speeds for 3G in the world!

- Marcus said: Heard a similar story from an iPhone 3G user from Austin (where AT&T 3G is apparently the kit's kaboodle) wondering why 3G service in Boston was so horribly slow. Too bad you can't get an iPhone w/ EVDO.
