Or how I learned to stop worrying, and love Apple's "Time Capsule":http://www.apple.com/timecapsule/. Which, with the purpose of having you empathize with the effort it took to finally find a solution to my Time Capsule woes--a device I bought to rid us of previous problems, not to cause us new ones--requires a break down of our rather intricate home network setup.Coming into the house we have a 20mbit tube, the router of which acts as a ...

My pal KevinB asked about the status of Red Line slow zones after the CTA completes the subway slow zone work in October. I haven't yet asked the CTA about that, but I did review the most current slow zone maps. Here's what I can tell you. According to the map below, almost 13,000 feet of slow zones between North/Clybourn and Clark and Division should be fixed in October. So, this map indicates October should ...

Security guards contracted by the DHS threw a woman out of a Social Security office in Van Nuys for wearing a t-shirt that read "lesbian.com." He claimed that "The Rules and Regulations Governing Conduct on Federal Property" gave him the right to throw her out for wearing a t-shirt with the word "lesbian" on it. As she headed for a line to pick up a Social Security card for her son, Gilbert was stopped by ...

I Don't Believe in Imaginary Property writes "The database used by the government to generate lists like the No-Fly List is 'crippled by technical flaws,' according to the chairman of a House technology oversight subcommittee. Currently, whenever an astronaut needs to talk to someone, a counselor is only a radio call away. Unfortunately, for voyages further out, this contact time starts to increase quite a bit, so researchers have started to look for alternative methods of counseling. I just hope the new counseling software has the Dr. Sbaitso voice. "Instead of asking astronauts to reflect on their feelings, Mark Hegel of Dartmouth Medical School has them create lists of concrete ...
