Fujitsu FLEPia e-book reader with color E Ink said to be close to launch—plus rumor of a $299 Asus-killer from Dell in August (4)
on TeleRead: Bring the E-Books Home (90) permalinkWith color, E Ink would be much more appealing for, say, K-12 use. Not to mention manga reading! The TeleBlog has covered the Fujitsu FLEPia in the past, and now Engadget says this color e-reader will launch soon. It’ll go for $941, offer WiFi and "run up for up to 50 hours on a single charge." Screen size is to be A4. Can’t wait to see what the color quality is. Will it be vibrant ...Contribute comment

iPhone Developers have a blockbuster weekend (31)
on Scobleizer -- Tech geek blogger (756) permalinkToday I visited two iPhone developers to see how things went. First we visited Evernote, which makes a great note-taking app. This is the most useful app I’ve loaded on my iPhone so far (which has more than 30 apps loaded on it). Really killer thing? Take a picture of something with text in it. Say a sign, or a business card. Or a newspaper ad. Or a bill you received. Save it. iPhone 3G: 1 Million Sold (4)
on Web Worker Daily (809) permalinkWell, that didn’t take long. Despite the activation hassles, despite the cost, Apple had a phenomenally successful opening weekend for the iPhone 3G: by Sunday, over 1 million of them had been sold. That’s a lot of phones - and perhaps more than phones: Om Malik argues on our parent GigaOm that the device is important enough to drive broadband demand.
