I assure you that 100% of my friends will see a tax reduction under the Obama plan, and most of the time a bigger reduction than under McCain:

Finally! Nancy Duarte, the Principle of Duarte Design (the firm behind the creation of Al Gore's Oscar-winning presentations), has published a presentation book for the rest of us. It's called Slide:ology: The Art and Science of Creating Great Presentations. Slide:ology is practical, it's highly visual, and it's beautiful. I love this book. Slide:ology should come bundled with every copy of PowerPoint or Keynote ever sold from now on. I received a draft copy about three ...

Three CSU Chancellor's Office employees, including Joel Block and Paul Verellen, were forced out of their jobs after questioning the way Chancellor Charles Reed hired and paid a high-profile labor consulting firm, reports the San Francisco Chronicle. The CSU hired Georgia consulting firm C. Richard Barnes & Associates, LLC, in a series of no-bid contracts to assist with labor issues including negotiations and arbitrations. The contracts began in November 2005 and run through the end ...

My prediction: this will result in more stringent requirements for the (non-problematic) individual CSUs for hiring consultants, while not affecting any substantive changes for the chancellor's office.

Our colleagues from the Linux team blogged about it last month, but it's worth repeating:The latest version of our Emergency Rescue CD is available. It's a bootable Linux CD that can scan Windows hard drives (NTFS and FAT) as well attached USB drives. If the computer has an Internet connection, the virus definition databases are updated automatically. If an Internet connection isn't available, the definition databases can be manually updated using a USB drive. It's an excellent support ...

The Space Invaders icon has now gone just a bit too far. A t-shirt is one thing, a belt buckle is another, but a cutting board? This may be a bit too far out, but we can’t deny that we want one of these just a little bit. The Space Invaders Cutting Board, designed and hand-built by Cameron Oehler, is a 15″x10″x1.5″ wooden slab of nostalgic video game glory. If you’ve got a geeky chef ...

After a few liters of beer at Tour de Fat yesterday afternoon, I caught up with Reverend Ballyhoo, aka the Deacon of Freakin’, aka Oscar the Gashole, aka the Big Cheese In Charge Of The Whole Damn Festival (BCICOTWDF), aka Chris. He was wearing, a la Tom Wolfe, a white suit with a white top-hat and a black tie (made from an inner tube), and he carried in his right hand a silver cane that, ...

Screw Obama. This guy is a crush-worthy politician.**Here's why.**Fair Disclosure: I have no idea if this is substantively true. I haven't vetted his actual positions (and if you consider giving him money, I advocate doing so). I was won over entirely by the surface glitter of his faux-XKCD-style story about how he ended up running for office.
