Now that convention season is over and the candidates have about eight weeks before they find out who will lead the United States for the next four years, it’s time we compare each candidate’s attention online as we head into the final stretch. According to Google Trends data, Republican candidate John McCain is quickly gaining ground on Barack Obama and witnessed a spike in searches the day he announced Sarah Palin as his running mate. ...

The first new Microsoft ad in the recently launched $300 million advertising campaign by Crispin Porter + Bogusky (CP&B) debuted tonight featuring Jerry Seinfeld and Bill Gates. It’s not clear what they are trying to sell, but my guess it has something to do with shoes and churros. Yesterday, a screener for The Dark Knight leaked all over the interwebs, so the entire world has officially enjoyed Chris Nolan’s Batman sequel. Nevertheless, let me whisper “SPOILER ALERT” in your ear like a geeky Craig Mack. In a couple of new interviews, co-star Aaron Eckhart has revealed the ultimate fate of Harvey Dent and Two-Face per the ending to TDK and this second sequel we love to speculate about… “[My character is] dead. I ...

Don't know how, if you hang around these parts of the internet, you would have missed it, but hey, stranger things have happened. You may have only just got a new PC. You may be a student, and it's taken you this long to scrape pennies from the trough in the pub's men's urinal to buy a new graphics card. You may have just woken up from a coma. If that's actually you, know that ...

I've been seeing the trailer for the upcoming [REC] remake zombie flick Quarantine quite a bit recently and, naturally, it has got me thinking about zombie killing. The basic must-have weapons have always been a shotgun, pistol, chainsaw, baseball bat and a crowbar—but if you want to go the extra mile when preparing for Armageddon, the following weapons and tools will let the undead horde know that you really mean business. My mom and I used to bring 2 boxes each, weighing 70 lbs, when visiting relatives in the Philippines. On top of that we'd send 4 boxes one month before our departure via sea cargo so that at the time of our arrival, our family would be ripping open 10 boxes full of gifts ranging from yellow cans of Nesquik to tennis rackets. Today, im by myself and the weight limit is now down to ...

A 20-minute LEGO Batman cartoon is being developed using the same engine as the upcoming video game. Although details are sketchy, a producer for U.K.-based developer Traveller’s Tales tells GameIndustry.biz the cartoon will be a one-shot, at least initially, created “by a separate studio in the States.” Warner Bros. bought Traveller’s Tales late last year. “My understanding is that they will use the engine, the Maya files where the characters come to life, but they’ll ...

A few months ago I contemplated my life's purpose. When I finally figured it out, I began to make decisions accordlingly and very quickly. I called my aunt to help sell my house and found a children's clinic from my mom's home province of Bohol to help out. The next phase of my "plan" is to do more freelance work and work on my own, but that part of my plan hasn't occurred yet. Despite ...

Today, Comcast announced that it will amend its Acceptable Use Policy and add a clause to it that will establish a "monthly data use threshold" of 250 GB per month. This effectively puts a cap on the amount a Comcast user can download per month and codifies an informal policy Comcast was already enforcing. While 250GB is a large amount of data right now, it won't be once a large number users start watching HD ...

This Star Wars Landspeeder is a full-sized, drivable, Jedi-approved replica built by Daniel Deutsch, who designed his version from the ground up. Neatorama dug up this 1:1 scale speeder, which has a custom aluminum chassis, fiberglass body, and an electric drive system that hits lightspeed at 25 mph (UPDATED: with gallery). The art detail is also pretty amazing (and reeks of authenticity), with body work and fake damage consistent with the landspeeder in the film. ...
