Author’s note: I’m still on vacation this week, and wrote this before I left. If all goes according to plan, I’ll be somewhere in San Francisco when this goes up - probably drinking beer in the Google parking lot with a pair of binoculars and an angry girlfriend. __ A while back I posted 15 reasons why Canada is better than your country, a thoughtful and well researched article that enumerated 15 reasons why Canada ...

Subhiksha, the retail chain outlet’s license in Maharashtra has been suspended over hygienic issues in it’s warehouse. While Subhiksha will appeal to the Maharashtra High court and has blamed the rivals for manipulating the case: As everyone is aware we follow a Lowest price strategy and offer 10% discount on all medicines and have been subject matter of boycotts and lots of harassment - at various times regulatory agencies have been instigated to act against ...

I don't like popcorn. But today, walking by a bowl of it, I took some. Most people do. The thing about popcorn is that it is a low investment, low risk snack. You can eat it if you're not hungry. You can successfully have a tiny portion. You are virtually certain that it will taste very much like your last popcorn snack. There are products that are as easy to sample as popcorn. And making ...

Google Insights is probably the coolest product from Google factory (after Gmail and Google Apps) in the last few years. The product lets you conduct marketing research/insights based on search queries handled by Google. Lets look at an example: Restaurant category is a highly searched topic (relative strength: 72, above sex (66), railways (79) In the region interest, Karnataka tops the chart. Is This Future for the Firefox UI? You may remember a project called Enso, a software program developed by Humanized - the same folks who brought you Songza. The program is an application launcher which provides you with a different way to navigate and interact with your computer through the use of keyboard shortcuts and typed commands. As we noted before, Enso appears to have been abandoned by the developers who created it since they ...

When the Facebook platform debuted last year it was touted as the next big thing. Media, VC, startups and big companies shared the enthusiasm for its future. And no wonder: Facebook enabled access to 50 million users. You no longer needed to bring the audience to your app. Instead your app could be delivered to one of the largest audiences around the web. And not just delivered, but injected into a massive social network. While ...

If Facebook can make their mobile/iPhone application run Facebook applications that would be killer. In all honesty I think Facebook should allow developers to charge for their applications similar to Apple. That way you start to develop a real economy around the platform and at the same time kill off incredibly stupid applications. I bet there would be a high percentage of their user base that would be willing to pay 50 cents or 1 dollar for something like FunWall, and for a company looking to justify it's valuation it seems like an established stream which they could tap for some revenue that isn't advertising based.

I think it won’t be an overstatement if I say that on weekends, most of us write posts discussing potential of having a Microsoft/Google/Facebook from India. This is a national obsession.
