I frequently want to print copies of maps, directions or other things to take with me on the road. Since I found the app Air Sharing for my iPod touch, I can save the docs to PDF, and then copy them to my iPod touch for offline viewing. I put together an Automator workflow [65KB download] that allows me to do this directly from the print dialog box. To configure the workflow, put the (unzipped) ...Contribute comment - Design Float (7)

Google VP Marissa Mayer talked about the future of search on the Google blog this afternoon. Mayer apparently spent Saturday keeping track of all the things that came up in conversations that she wished she could search for. Our coverage of the new Google browser Chrome over the past few days has touched on issues like browser performance and business implications for Firefox - but one thing we hadn't noticed until this evening was a curious section of the Chrome Terms of Service. The terms include a section giving Google "a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free, and non-exclusive license to reproduce, adapt, modify, translate, publish, publicly perform, publicly display and distribute any Content which ...Shared by (jeff)isageek (36) Adam (20) AJ (270) Akhmad Fathonih (19) AKs (4) atul (156) boagworld (16) Brian Calhoun (0) Brian Landau (22) Chris Gilmore (23) Chris Messina (26) Eric Herberholz (28) Fanatyk (25) Farzad (8) Joe (138) Kathy Brewis (159) Keef (38) Keith (19) kenmat (39) kidakaka (33) Kristen (18) Lennie (11) lezionidistile (22) Luis Suarez (2) Mark Glaser (15) Martynas (4) Matthew Bischoff (20) Maurelita (21) Miguel Lopez (176) Miron Ghiu (2) Mountain/\Ash (18) neo (18) Netviber (41) Niva (1) Nuno Carvalho (20) Onder Eren (3) Ozgur (16) paul (18) Pete Johnston (1) Richard (18) Shankar Ganesh (80) Stephen (39) sulleh (9) svartling (30) Talk (15) thornley (13) Tim (66) Ubqtous (23) warza (15) Will (18)- warza said: blah blah blah

Why we don&8217;t skip Photoshop | Blue Flavor (2)

Yesterday, our friends at 37signals started an interesting discussion on their blog with a post entitled Why we skip Photoshop. But the post actually has very little to do with the actual tool (Adobe Photoshop), and is really more related to workflow. 37signals doesn’t do a visual composite phase in the process of developing their products. Instead, they jump directly from rough sketches (on paper or in their heads) to development using HTML and CSS. ...Shared by boagworld (16) Muhammad Siyab (53)Contribute comment - Bee Docs' Timeline - Timeline Software for Mac OS X (13)

A List Apart: Articles: Faux Absolute Positioning (15)

A List Apart (189) permalink
CSS layout is awesome, except when your layout calls for a header, a footer, and columns in between. Use float, and content changes can cause columns to wrap. Use absolute positioning, and your footer can crash into your columns. Add the complexity of drag-and-drop layouts, and a new technique is needed. Enter "faux absolute positioning." Align every item to a predefined position on the grid (as with absolute positioning), but objects will still affect the ...Shared by Alfred (1) Arata Kojima (18) boagworld (16) Cool (23) Dave (10) deejay74 (0) dprothro (4) John Bragg (15) Michael (14) Michael (15) Nick (14) Patrick J.
