While the early release of the Chrome comic might have changed the way Google went about launching its new browser, it definitely did not hurt Chrome's early success. According to data from Net Applications, Chrome captured more than 1% of the browser market within its first day of release. Since then, it has been growing steadily and is now at around 1.5%, as both technology blogs and mainstream publications have written about it almost nonstop ...Shared by adam (728) baixinho (25) bhc3 (35) CannonGod (190) Corvida (61) Drew Olanoff (125) Elroy (21) leo (15) mark (18) mhmazidi (180) Mike F (371) Mikko (7) morgan180 (40) Morton Fox (42) Nate (28) Phreak 2.0 (48) sarahintampa (79) yoshy (312) Yung-Hui Lim (77)Contribute comment -
The Great Online Advertising Divide Widens (19)

As online advertising spending continues its meteoric rise — the Wall Street Journal is reporting a healthy gain of 20 percent in the second quarter alone — not every form of advertising is enjoying such success. In fact, as economic troubles continue, more and more advertisers are only willing to spend money on search ads and are increasingly ignoring other forms of advertising. According to eMarketer, search ad spending will reach $10.4 billion this year, ...Shared by adam (728) Adam Rubin (5) Cai Chen (778) DavidSS (7) Dean Clark (71) digits12 (625) Guy (599) John Wesley (46) liamvictor (94) Matt McAlister (3) Mike (56) Mike F (371) morgan180 (40) nossenigma (8) Pascal Sijen (2) Ritu (409) saul klein (2) Sean Ammirati (1) Yung-Hui Lim (77)Contribute comment -

Nerdvana: This graph, courtesy of Credit Suisse, shows the historical ratio of median existing single-family home prices to median family income in the United States. It suggests that, if the previous historical ratio of prices to income is meaningful, and lasting, home prices will continue to decline until late 2009 or early 2010. Those are big "ifs." I'll have more shortly on the accompanying Credit Suisse report. -- Peter Viles Your thoughts? Comments? E-mail story ...Contribute comment -

By Phil Glockner of Scribkin (FriendFeed/Twitter)There has already been a lot of coverage of Google’s new browser, Chrome, including on this site (See Here and Here). But I think that it is premature to judge and execute this new product so early in its life cycle, I think time will tell if it becomes a strong contender against Internet Explorer, Firefox, Opera and Safari. Preeminent among the magazine world's kingmaking power lists is Vanity Fair's New Establishment, which appears in the October issue — on newsstands in L.A. and New York today, but not in the Bay Area for another six days. Silicon Valley gets similar short shrift: The names who make it there are predictable bigs like Steve Jobs and Larry Ellison, or Hollywood-crossover types like Jeff Skoll, eBay's first employee turned movie producer. As Twitter's co-founder Biz Stone points out, Twitter is working diligently to improve Twitter's reliability. So far, those efforts seem to be working out quite well for the popular microblogging service.
