More than a third of Millennials also indicated that they were dissatisfied with the technologies their employers currently provide. Among other things, Millennials would prefer to use instant messaging, text messaging, and RSS feeds to communicate with their clients and customers, though very ...

The only way I could see IM replacing email in the workplace is if messages are stored somewhere and searchable. I really like Google's implementation of this.

I was glad to see this report to find out I'm not the only one. At my current day job, we receive quarterly emails telling us not to use a variety of services, but no one ever checks into it. I was told once that if a monitoring system were implemented, everyone would be fired. I think the key is to figure out how to work with these services, not to just block them wholesale.

In the past, I've agonized about my employer's IT restrictions. I'm obviously not a millennial, who probably would have ignored the restrictions and demanded better bandwidth for video streaming.

They grasped the real significance of this moment. They knew it meant that America had finally switched sides in a global cultural war. Forget the Cold War, or even the Iraq War. The United States, having for the most part a deeply conservative people, had until now just about stood out against many of the mistakes which have ruined so much of the rest of the world. Suspicious of welfare addiction, feeble justice and high ...

A quick election wrap-up first: Sen. Obama deserved his win. He organized the best campaign and ran his playbook to perfection. As The New York Times reports today, it was a near-flawless run. As for the Senate, it looks as if the Democrats will have a 56- or 57-seat majority--the latter would be the same as Bill Clinton enjoyed during the his first two years as president. The number 56 assumes that Norm Coleman will ...

In analyzing the results of Tuesday's historic election, the question we must ask ourselves, first and foremost, is: what the heck were the results of Tuesday's historic election?

(2008-11-03) — Barack Obama has reportedly confided to close associates his fear that when millions of Democrats go to the polls Tuesday, they’ll do exactly what he did about 130 times in the Illinois State Senate: When faced with a tough choice, they’ll vote ‘present‘. “Leaders tend to attract followers who are like them,” the source said. “Obama knows that it’s one thing to show up for an event with a crowd, but quite another ...

(2008-10-31) — The text of an address written by a Barack Obama speech writer, apparently scheduled for delivery on election night, inadvertently leaked to the L.A. Times today and was immediately released on the paper’s website. The first line of the speech says, “I spoke with Sen. McCain on the phone moments ago, and I offered him and Gov. Palin our congratulations on their victory.” With polls showing the gap between Senators McCain and Obama ...
