12 Great Tales of De-Friending (43)

David Spark (@dspark) is a veteran tech journalist and the founder of Spark Media Solutions, a storytelling production company. De-friending has always been awkward. YouTube was built in no small part by users uploading copyright clips of British comedy group Monty Python. Ok, it was built by users uploading copyright clips of lots of different media outfits, but nonetheless, the group’s influence on the video sharing site has been huge. RefSeek is Google For Students and Scientists (34)

Google used to be a great tool for researchers, but then it got swarmed by billions of links from companies who are trying to sell you something. Clearing your way through all this information can be (and often is) counterproductive. Enter RefSeek, an “academic” search engine, that launched today in beta. Simpler than Google even in appearance, RefSeek does not claim to offer more results than Google; instead, it strips any results not related to ...Shared by a77ila (68) Adam Posey (2) Ahmed Naguib (14) Alan Levine (0) Andrea Borruso (1) Antonis Lilis (17) b3cak (3) Bree Miller (0) Emily Culbertson (0) Gauravonomics (24) hula (0) iAlja (3) jeff.keyser (1) Jeremy Allen (0) JTF Burgess (1) kbrown5676 (0) Le prof. 25+ Sites that Use Typography As The Only Design Element (61)

Ever since I herd about the study of typography I was fascinated by it. Upon the word “typography” it clicked for me, “how interesting… the study of type, typefaces, and the design that is shaped by it.” On the web we face some typographic challenges and limitations, the typefaces, font smoothing, and control we have over all typographic elements is inconsistent at best. However that hasn’t stopped several great designers from using typography as the ...Shared by Adrian (0) Alan Dean (29) Alan Gutierrez (0) Amy (0) brad robertson (0) Chris (0) Chris M (0) christopher berry (0) Colin Francois (0) D (2) Dave Onkels (0) Dave Woodard (0) David Clifford (0) Dewang Mistry (0) edythe (7) elsterama (0) fabiano (0) Foo Yong Hwee (0) hitors (0) JA Castillo (2) jalam1001 (17) James Naylor (0) Jared Hawkins (0) Javi Loureiro (0) Jeff Rivers (8) Joern (0) José Carlos (0) Jose Viveiros (0) karin (0) Kyle Fox (0) Lito (0) Mads (0) Markus (0) Maura (0) miasarmento (23) Michael Wender (0) Michel Balzer (0) Mila Frerichs (0) MrGuff (10) Organized Media (2) posavasos (0) Pramod (11) quang (0) realazy (0) Renzo (0) Richard Ellender (0) Rizky (0) Roamlog Lee (2) Ross Johnson (0) Sacha (0) Sasha Kovaliov (1) slickplaid (2) Stefan Asemota (1) Stefan Kudwien (0) Taylor (0) Tijs (0) Vince (5) Vincent Callut (0) Wolfgang Heinrich (4) yuka ayukawa (0) zemaNORIS (1)Contribute comment - Dezcom | Typeface Design (1)
