Az idei évet egy elég kellemetlen dologgal kezdtem: megpusztult a videó vezérlő a laptopomban. Rémesen egyszerűen nézett ki a dolog: dolgozok, egyszercsak szemét a képernyőn, aztán fagyás, de olyan, hogy nem rajzolja ki a szokásos képernyőt, csak megáll. Reboot, belefagy. Reboot másodszor, elindul a gép, loginscreen belefagy. Nagyjából ez. A gépem addigra elmúlt egy éves, az Apple alapból egy évre adja a garanciát. eFivel beszélgettem telefonon (apróságokról), aztán szóba jött a push témakör kérdése. Konkrétan az iPhone tetheringről értekeztünk, meséltem neki, mennyire jól használhatóan működik, Apple stílusban két kattintással azonnal ONLINE megyünk, bárhol is vagyunk, csitti-fitti minden. Aztán kissé elbizonytalanodva mondtam neki, hogy ha jól emlékszem kb. három éve volt olyan alkalom, amikor meló miatt lett volna szükségem erre a dologra. Biczó András (@abiczo) fogta magát, és összepakolta a Twitter geolokációs adatait a Yahoo Placemakerrel, és csinált az egészből egy Google Maps mashupot. Az eredményen az látható, hogy hol élnek a magyar twitterezők. A pontos geolokációhoz arra van szükség, hogy a felhasználók Twitteren (Settings/Location) pontosan adják meg a geokoordinátáikat.
