Today there was a comic book in my mail, sent by Google and drawn by no less than Scott McCloud, creator of the classic Understanding Comics. Within the 38 pages, which I’ve scanned and put up, in very readable format Google gives the technical details into a project of theirs: an open source browser called Google Chrome. The book points to www.google.com/ch..., but I can’t see anything live there yet. - Dan said: Awesome.
- Dileepa said: Microsoft is going to be in serious trouble. IE8 is not looking good. Firefox is on fire. Safari is gaining share via Macs. And now Google Chrome...
- Chris Wetherell said: Some people will go audibly apoplectic at hearing this news. "Another browser to deal with!" "Owww!" "KILLIT!?!1101@#!" Potentially, it might help to hear that A) it's open source B) it's based on WebKit so if you develop for Safari, you're good already.
- Sean said: I would be most interested in this. Especially if Google could use this browser to tie more of the Google services together.
- Mark Whiting said: Oh god this is such good news and a great way of putting it out. I can't wait for browsers to stop sucking as all the existing ones do.
- BillDeys said: when can I get a copy?
- Jason said: multithreaded browser? next step, google OS.
- baron said: Can't wait to give a test drive after reading the comic introduction. Google rocks again!
- Icefreez said: Doesn't sound all that great. Tabs above the URL box seems stupid. I switch tabs more than I click in the URL box.
- griflet said: Google is concocting an open-source web-browser? Hmmm, how will it stand-out agains the Mozilla labs software?
- Linden said: Very interesting! I wonder when it will be released...

Two years after the first technology preview, Microsoft officially launched Photosynth, an interesting way to combine overlapping photos from a place and explore the place in detail from different angles. Successful product design manages to reveal useful functionality beyond its appealing form. No matter how excellent a design looks like, most customers aren’t likely to spend money on something they won’t be able to use. On the other hand, most people are likely to buy something useful despite the design it has. Yet the key to a truly successful product design lies in designer’s ability to combine both beautiful design and functionality making it obvious ...Shared by aac74 (17) Braden (0) Cédric Merland (9) Chendur (7) coffeesister |_|) (8) Farzad (8) feral cat (24) Greg (17) loveless (14) masahiko (0) pete (12) remz (5) sandy (8) Sarav (5) ViralReality (16)Contribute comment -
