Here's a lovely little gallery of space age illustrations, perfect for collaging into Christmas cards or other crafty projects. Most of these come from the superb Modern Mechanix blog (a bottomless, never-ending, priceless trove of fantastic scans from vintage pulps), but there are a smattering from elsewhere as well. 45 Vintage ‘Space Age’ Illustrations (Thanks, Samantha!) This is the Marangoni M430 Alfa Romeo Mi.To. First the bad, this car is just pure risotto, which is a completely random term that I’m going to use for an Italian ricer car. Overdone bodykit, glaring two-tone paint, random decals, scissor doors, huge 18 inch wheels with red tyres for red burn-out smoke - you name it, it’s got it! And what’s M430 supposed to mean anyway, a homage to the Ferrari F430? But what’s ...

Although I like to flatter myself that my personal blog has the top Google result for “nes mp3 themes” and related searches, it’s folks like VGMusic and OC Remix that have the selection and newer tracks that gamers crave (if they crave game themes at all). Case in point: Capcom didn’t come to me when they wanted to freely distribute the soundtrack for the new (and from what I hear, awesome) Super Street Fighter II ...

Okay, I pretty much registered just to post this because I was so floored by it. So last night I was at my aunt’s for Thanksgiving. She has two little boys, and their library books were laying around. I’m an art student studying illustration, so I’m always interested in kids’ books. I noticed one of them was an old favorite of mine, Nate the Great and the Lost List, which I had all but forgotten ...

Believe it or not I’m really camera shy. But if you want to hear some of my thoughts on Community Management - please watch this. Because I’m surprisingly happy with the results. This interview is just one in a series of interviews conducted by Arne Hulstein and Erno Hannink during Web 2.0 Expo Europe in Berlin this past October… Arne had this really creative idea to drive a sponsored Ford car from Amsterdam all the ...

What do you get when you combine tilt-shift imaging, time-lapse photography, funky music, hyperbolic chassis engineering, copious quantities of horsepower, and a fire-breathing car-eating dinosaur? Honestly, I couldn't tell you exactly what the result is, but Keith Loutit captured it on video, and the result is nothing short of stunning. There's so much to love about this video. The music, for openers -- what's not to like about a tune called "Robot High School" by ...

Over the last few months we've showcased a handful of innovative mashups that developers have created using Yahoo! Search BOSS. The creations have ranged in functionality and focus, but all have included interesting applications of Yahoo! Search's index, infrastructure and technology. Today, we're sharing another useful application of BOSS that TechCrunch just launched - a technology-flavored Web search engine. This new search engine enables TechCrunch users to search for technology-focused articles and company information across ...
