One year ago link shortening service TinyURL experienced an extended period of down time and we argued that the outage illustrated serious risks associated with the service. One year later, the landscape doesn't look any less bleak. De afgelopen weken zijn diverse landen hard bezig maatregelen te nemen om de gevolgen van de kredietcrisis te beperken. Die maatregelen zijn nogal verschillend van aard. Zo gaan ze in het Verenigd Koninkrijk de BTW verlagen. Dat stimuleert het koopgedrag enzovoort. Maar zo’n BTW verlaging zorgt voor een probleem met de schatkist uiteraard. Daar zullen toekomstige generaties mogelijk voor boeten. En toen vroeg ik me af of die Wouter Bos het misschien toch niet slimmer ...

Ja, ook ik verlang wel eens terug naar de paarse kabinetten, toen de PvdA en D66 kleurloze machtspartijen waren, de SP niet veel voorstelde en de PvdD nog niet bestond.
