Today, Famitsu publisher Enterbrain announced that Nintendo has sold 7 million Wii in the period starting with its December 2, 2006 launch and ending November 23, 2008. Make no mistake. Seven Million Wiis sold in Japan is impressive. However, humor us as we put things in perspective: Back in January, we reported that the Wii sold 5 million units in Japan. Then a couple months later in May, Nintendo sold 6 million Wiis in The ...

Robots playing Guitar Hero are not new; one playing the game with up to 98 percent precision is, however. Wired found the Cythbot, a creation of southern California engineering firm Cyth Systems, at this week's Robo developers conference in Santa Clara. It's not actually for sale. Nor is it much more than an aluminum cage with pneumatic "fingers" to hit the frets, while a camera tells it what's coming. Cythbot can play in both solo ...

If you own both Guitar Hero (III or World Tour) and Rock Band (1 or 2), you'll be both familiar and ultimately sick of the compatibility issues between the two franchises. They will work, they won't work, they might work, they should work; trying to get hard, final word on just which instruments will work with which game has been a messy, convoluted and confusing experience. Until now, that is! The official Guitar Hero community ...

You should know that modifying ...

Hands down, Nintendo Co., Ltd. has the best instruction manuals on this spinning blue orb we call Earth. The DSi manual is no exception. It politely advises things like don't drive and play DSi, don't stab the DSi with a screwdriver and don't throw the DSi away with burnable trash. Better take notes, this is all very, very important stuff. Click through the Nintendo safety hilarity below. Follow the rest of our DSi coverage here.

Random thoughts Back from GenCon. I feel like I haven’t slept in weeks… Which is great! Streamlining your D&D game - especially combat Great games are complex but that complexity comes from simple rules. After 5 D&D games in 6 days I can say that it is the case for 4E. I hardly ever looked in the PHB to check on rules yet combat encounters lasted forever. Even in the games we played sober! Note ...
