No one likes using up their cell phone minutes, and that is where VoIP services come in handy. VoIP offers up an inexpensive alternative to traditional phone calls, making VoIP for the iPhone a great deal. While the iPhone has not officially supported VoIP service, Apple isn’t saying it’s not allowed either. With all of that in mind, there are two camps of VoIP services popping up for the popular Apple device: official applications and ...Shared by 210cm (0) Abdul Jaleel KK (0) Abhishek (0) Adele McAlear (0) Adrian (1) Ahmed El-Helw (0) AJ Batac (6) Alex (0) Alex France (7) Amit Chowdhry (38) AmyVernon (132) Ananya Walia (8) Anthony Garcia (0) Ashish Mohta (3) Baard Overgaard Hansen (0) Babychen Mathew (12) Basye (0) Benedict Lee Zhi En (8) Benjamin (84) Carlos Iriarte (0) Chris Collins (0) Chuck Rogers (3) Clint Maher (46) Courtney (1) Dan Serfaty (0) darren (0) Darren Isbrecht (9) David Culpepper (0) David de Niese (2) David Fiedler (5) David Lopez (0) Derning (0) Dino (0) dobata (0) Eddie Awad (0) Eric Almond (0) Foo Yong Hwee (0) George Arnaoutoglou (0) George Brickner (9) Gerard van Enk (0) Glenn Batuyong (2) guercheLE (5) Guillermo Bravo (6) hiroshi (0) Hollow (0) Jaap Willem (0) Jacob Tapp (0) James Lowery (0) Jason (0) jason o (42) Jeremiah Hester (3) Jeremy Allen (0) JiM (0) Joel Christy D'Alessandro (0) Jonathan Mead (11) Jonny (0) Joseph Rodgers (9) Joshua (0) Kate (37) Kirk (1) Kristian Salonen (1) Kuanyin (1) Laurent Courtines (0) Leslie Poston (1) m3mn0n (0) MakeUseOf (0) Marcelo (0) Marcus5s (56) Mark (0) mark boyce (1) Mark Douglass (0) Matthew (1) mattsingley (0) maxyRO (0) miasarmento (6) Micah Nolte (1) Michael (7) Michael Guy (0) Michael Liu (0) Miguel Lopez (30) Mike G (0) minounou (0) nesh thompson (3) odeb (0) pacificIT (0) Patricia F. StumbleUpon Takes A Lesson From Digg, Starts Banning Users (70)
on
ReadWriteWeb (120) permalink
Not even two months ago, social news web site Digg.com cleaned house and banned over 80 users for running scripts while on site, including those from Greasemonkey. Digg also banned others for allegedly promoting sites promoting products and services. Now we're getting word that the recommendation engine StumbleUpon may have started a "witchhunt" of their own, banning users of their service for stumbling upon the wrong things. What's worse is that they don't even seem ...Shared by Adam Sherk (0) Alex (0) AmyVernon (132) ani625 (7) Anna (25) Atul Arora (49) Avi (59) Baard Overgaard Hansen (0) Babychen Mathew (12) Benjamin (84) Bill Hartzer (0) BrilliantJeni (2) C.K. Why Your Next Computer Might Be A Linux PC - ReadWriteWeb (111)

It's the perfect storm. Computer manufacturers have figured out how to produce lightweight, low-end machines that cost very little just as the economy takes a big tumble. Meanwhile, software applications that once needed robust hardware to run are now moving to the cloud. The result? An explosion of netbooks, the "sub-compact" car of notebook computers, most of which don't cost too much more than the average smartphone.Sponsor When buying a netbook today, you're presented with ...Shared by adam (72) Adam Snider (5) Adriano Peluso (0) Ahsan Navid Hussain (10) Alex France (7) Alexandre Gauvrit (4) Andrew Currie (0) Andrew McCallister (0) Andrew Miesem (0) Andrew Schott (0) Anton (0) Appie Verschoor (0) Atit (6) Atul Arora (49) Baard Overgaard Hansen (0) Babychen Mathew (12) Bayardo Lopezpineda (0) Ben Snyder (3) Benjamin (84) Bhavesh (0) Bill Gardner (0) Brad Brown Jr. (0) Brad Davis Seal (0) Bradley Goetsch (5) Brendan Mclaughlin (0) Brian (16) Brian (0) Brian Roy (0) BrilliantJeni (2) Calvin Robinson (4) Cameron Yeager (6) Chad (0) Chantal (2) Christopher Snyder (0) codeAries (2) Creeva (0) Dan Fitek (0) Daniel (1) Dennis Laumen (0) Derek van Vliet (1) dobata (0) Doug McCaughan (0) embee (5) Fletcher (0) Gabriel (7) german (0) gisc (1) Hagen (0) hamza (1) James (4) Jamie McGibbon (0) Jason Kingery (9) Jens Christian Freund (0) John (8) Joseph (1) Keef (0) Ken (0) kepp (2) Keshav Khera (0) Kevin Sablan (0) Kris (5) Krispijn (1) Kyle (0) Kyle James (2) Lance (61) Leslie Poston (1) Luka Marinko (0) marcel weiß (9) Mark Lancaster (0) Matt (0) mhmazidi (0) Michael Mior (17) Mike Abundo (6) Mike Reynolds (4) Mike Riversdale (0) moaikids (4) Moddi (0) Morton Fox (31) n8dude (9) Neal "thePuck" Jansons (18) Nicholas (1) Nick Smith (0) nicolas.boullosa (0) NomadRip (3) Peat (0) Peter Duke (0) Phillip Dade (0) Rami Taibah (0) Rene Rattur (0) Rex (19) Richard (0) Richard Cunningham (0) Rick Turoczy (0) Rob Jongschaap (14) robdiana (11) Saad Kamal (3) Samuel (6) silpol (0) StevieB (16) Sweyn (0) Tim Hoeck (8) Tom (11) Trevor Wermund (20) Will (0) will killian (0) Will Sullivan (0) WindPower (0) Woof (3) yassina (0) ZaMoose (0) Zee from WeDoCreative (2)Explore read four notes- Will said: When I tell people they will be using Linux sooner than they think, they never believe me. I run a super nice workstation entirely on free software. Unless it is job-specific(which a huge amount of it is), why aren't you using open source? The beauty of open source is that if your answer is "It doesnt feel like a Mac" well, it certainly will soon.

- marcel weiß said: "this move to netbook computing is offering Linux a foot in the door of mainstream computing in a way that may have never been possible before. Without the economic crisis to factor in to people's spending decisions, people probably wouldn't have considered the Linux option as strongly as they're doing today. When every dollar saved counts, the decision to go Linux may be more about cost savings than anything else, but that might be what it takes to get people to try the OS computer geeks have been raving about for years."
