Warning: if you haven't seen the movie, this is one big spoiler. That being said, this is utterly, utterly brilliant. My favorite part:And why couldn't an Autobot translate these symbols?Because Bumblebee is mute and the Racist Twins are poor black robots from the slums of Cybertron who never learned how to read. It's a sad commentary on Cybertronian society. Like The Wire, actually.

I’ve seen quite a bit of discussion today about how we’re bringing Silverlight ads to LIVE in the future. I need to let you know that you don’t need to worry about a huge influx of ads across the dashboard. One of our core principles is to enhance, not interfere with the gaming experience, and we work directly with our partners to only deliver experiences that are relevant to the LIVE community. Silverlight will help ...

Last.fm is coming to the Xbox 360, sticking another multimedia feather in the little beige box's hat. But we're left with two burning questions: how much will it cost, and can we stream the music in our games? The most important of those questions is the streaming one, and sadly, we don't have an answer on that yet. What we do have an answer for is some of the pricing structures Microsoft and Last.fm will ...

Sean Alexander, director at Microsoft's Advertising Business Group, has suggested that you could soon be seeing advertisements every time you fire up your 360 dashboard. Apparently, Microsoft "plans to bring IAB specifications for rich media technologies, including Silverlight, to Xbox Live within the year". With Silverlight being Microsoft's version of/competitor to Flash, MediaPost say "Silverlight-powered media on Xbox will have the same appearance as ads seen on a Web browser". Since the goal is for ...

Strapped for cash in the mid-1950s, Kurt Vonnegut took a job at Sports Illustrated, though he "didn't care or know squat about sports." They asked him to write a piece on a racehorse that had jumped the fence at the local track. He fed a page into his typewriter, stared at it for several hours, typed "The horse jumped over the fucking fence" and left.

Jury's still out on whether this will be useful in the short term, but I wager that it (or something like it) will be VERY useful once everybody has a portable internet machine that gets good reception (e.g., not T-Mo or AT&T on their current networks).
